Limewire 4.18 problem
Hello Guys, I have a freebsd 7 Release #0 box, it works as a marble, unfortunately I have a problem with limewire 4.18. I can connect with any other p2p network client, (firewall is ok and set up to allow connections on limewire port and upnp is enable) but limewire wont connect. I have made a search on the net and found a thread that fixed it by modifying the file /etc/libmap.conf as follows: [/usr/local/diablo-jre1.5.0/] libpthread.so libc_r.so libpthread.so.2 libc_r.so.6 I have diablo-jdk-1.6.0 so I replaced the lines, I didnt have the file libmap.conf so I created it and added the lines but still it doesnt work. Problems with ftp client
Hello guys, I have a Freebsd 5.4 box, it is working perfectly as a file server, but I have noticed that I can not ftp to any computer other than localhost from this server. I have found this out when tried to install remotely a package. I have no firewall rules enabled on this server, I can ping the remote servers I want to connect but cannot ftp. My firewall is not blocking outgoing or incoming ip traffic from this computer. Is there any environment variable that I need to setup for the ftp client to work?. The error I get from the ftp client is Connection time out.I have searched in the messages log file but nothing is found there, is there any other log files where I could look for?. Installing KDE3

usb modem
hello guys , I have installed a usb modem andin my FreeBSD 5.1 box, the system has created a /dev/ugen0 and /dev/ugen0.1, but when I try to do a cu using ugen0 or ugen0.1 I dont get any answer from the modem, cu just says that the device is not configured. Is there any other file I need to configure?, do I have to edit /etc/ttys and add ugen0 or ugen0.1 ?. How to read Serial Port data

FTP server problem
Hi guys, I have installed a FReebSD 5.1 Box, and I had enabled the FTP daemon in inetd,after I restarted inetd I can connect locally doing ftp localhost from the server, but I can not connect to the server from a workstation in the same network, I just get the a message conected to ftpserver, but the login and password dialog never appear. Serial multiport Card

Serial Multipot PCI card
Hy guys I´ve been using hylafax for a while now , and I´d like to install it in a FreeBSD box (its running in an old linux box now), but as you may know the new mainboards come with one serial port and with none isa slots(i could connect old Super I/o cards that had 2 serial ports each), so I want to use a PCI card with four serial ports , so that I could manage my four faxmodems to get and send faxes through my freebsd system running hylafax. Do any of you have experience running a FBSD server with this hw?, which brand of multiport serial cards do you recommend?. Is it posible to have a box with 2 default gateways?, if thew answer is yes, is it posible to route the packages based on the IP source address of the clients? .For example: bsd BOX with 2 nics ( actin as router) nic1 10.10.1.10 default gw 10.10.1.1 nic2 200.37.53.5 default gw 200.37.53.1 client1 10.10.1. 5 default gw 10.10.1.1 client2 10.10.1.22 default gw 10.10.1.1 If client1 connects to 10.10.1.1 the packets sould be routed trough nic2 of the multihomed BSD BOX If client2 connects to 10.10.1.1 the packets sould be routed trough nic1 of the multihomed BSD BOX. Netscape 7
Hi guys , I have installed NEtscape 7 in a FreeBSD 4.7 Box , it works fine but everytime I close the program, Netscape asksme for a profile, I try to use the one I used in my earlier session and it says that It cant be used because it is already being used , Im the only user of that PC, it seems that netscape has a problem writing profiles.Any Ideas? HEllo Im trying to install JDK in my FRee BSD 4.7 box , but there is no port for it. Xwindow configuration
Hi fellows I've been using FreeBSD for a While now , but I have never used the GUI, I have never installed it , brecause I have always used freebsd as a server, and I have never needed the GUI , now I want to install FreeBSD as a workstation , to make my users replace their windows wks. Hello, My server seems to execute dump everyday at 3:01 every day (there is no cron job that calls this job) and it allways exits with this error (when I run dump by hand it give me the same error ( /kernel:pid677 (dump), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped).
