And I would expect that a search for ghostscript LQ 550 would propably point you to the 'omni' or lq driver as well. I got a this driver is not installed when I tried to use the omni driver. I cannot find anything about these models in gimp-print/ghostscript/insert-your-favorite documentations. Just run through the printing section in the manual to set it up. I think I already wrote this: I don't have any problems printing plain text on this LQ-550, but anything else gets out as either PostScript source or junk. Sorry if this message arrives terribly mutilated. Mozilla is the worst email client I've ever seen (including all versions of Outlook), and I can't get it to behave. I'm installing mutt.
