It's not *that* hard if one reads the example files in /etc/mail, and the relevant Handbook section. If it is, then it's a bug of the documentation and I'd be glad to see PRs submitted with descriptions of the problems that users have found. I've used both, I now use postfix.. (note that ezmlm-idx will also give you the ability to create html archives) Inter7 has a brilliant virtual hosting and web mail platform for qmail as well (http://www.inter7.com). With all that said, I have no experience with postfix - but I have had much success with qmail and its addons. If you are looking at the qmail solution, check out the following. Provides a complete package from a multiple domain mail solution... great starting point.
