metadata is incorrect - freebsd-update

When I try to update to 8.0-BETA3 using freebsd-update I get a gunzip
problem like: metadata iscorrupt
I tried to remove /var/db/freebsd-update/files/* but I get the same
error message

Is this a client side problem or a server problem?
If the former how do I fix it?
