Hi, I just stumbled across a bug in the version of tcsh supplied with FreeBSD 7.2.
$ uname -a FreeBSD blizzard.phoenix 7.2-RELEASE-p4 FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE-p4 #0: Fri Oct 2 12:21:39 UTC 2009 r...@i386-builder.daemonology.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 $ which tcsh /bin/tcsh $ tcsh --version tcsh 6.15.00 (Astron) 2007-03-03 (i386-intel-FreeBSD) options wide,nls,dl,al,kan,sm,rh,color,filec $ tcsh -f > "`" Unmatched `. Segmentation fault (core dumped) $ Regular tcsh isn't in the ports tree, although there is a modified version called tcsh-bofh. It's apparently based on an older version of tcsh and is not vulnerable. $ /usr/local/bin/tcsh --version tcsh 6.12.00 (Astron) 2002-07-23 (i386-intel-FreeBSD) options 8b,nls,dl,al,rh,color,filec $ /usr/local/bin/tcsh -f > "`" Unmatched `. > Regards Andrew _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"
