If uname on the machine shows 9.1-RELEASE then it is, if not then at
least sys/conf/newvers.sh is different.

There are md5 and sha256 sums posted at
http://www.freebsd.org/releases/9.1R/announce.html for the official
release.  Just compare them to the sum for the image you downloaded and
installed.

I can't. That is the trouble. I downloaded an image on the job
and set usb stick at now broken hdd. Both files are gone. That
is the very reason I ask.
