Hi, A printout in USB is OK for the user, but what about applications? Probably I could extend with an USB IOCTL for the TTY device to do what I want, in addition to a printout. USB_IOCTL_GET_PARENT_NAME That seems like the right approach. Is there only ever one associated parent driver? Are there cases where it should report both a serial network interface? -- Trevor Blackwell650 776 7870t...@tlb.org ___ freebsd-usb@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-usb To unsubscribe, send any mail to freebsd-usb-unsubscr...@freebsd.org
7.2-stable #3 seems significantly less stable.
I have no hard metrics, but having gone from 7.2-release to 7.2-stable sometime in the last couple weeks has really made my usb experience quite unpleasant. I now have much trouble with loss of communication to uslcom devices when closing and reopening them (*not* plugging and unplugging them). Simply closing and reopening the port causes the open to freeze about 25% of the time. I seem to have similar problems with umass devices. I tend to leave evertthing plugged into the same hub and when it freezes, I unplug the cable from the hub. That caused a freeze reboot (I assume there was a panic, although no output on the screen). Anyway, like I said, no real chance of debug with it being so intermittent, just an FYI. Just thought I'd issue a report in case we just merged head into stable and most people think it's great - I'm not finding it great at the moment. If I do find a repeatable sequence of events, I'll send some info. Best! Re-enumerating a device
[ Please CC me as I'm not on list ] Hi, I have an M-Audio MobilePre, it's a USB audio module which works with snd_uadio, however to get it working I need to load the firwmare (via DFU). Unfortunately the only way I can get it to re-enumerate after sending the firmware is to unplug it enough to disconnect the data lines (but not power) and then reconnect. I have tried usbconfig reset, power_off/power_on, set_config and set_alt but to no avail..
