Yes, that is right. But I am looking for other possibilities -- for
example, would it be possible to use the iwn(4) driver instead? Or
shall the support for 802.11n be explicitly added for iwm(4) in order
to make this work?

Hi,
IIRC we do not have 802.11n support for iwm now.

According to the iwm(4) man page, 802.11ac is supported for this
driver, but unfortunately the wireless router I use does not support
that, but 802.11a/b/g/n only. The tech specs for Intel Wireless 8260
[1] tell me that 802.11n is supported by the hardware.

Is there a way to use this card under FreeBSD in 802.11n mode? I
could not find any documentation on that.

Thanks,
Gábor
