No. I added those and recompiled now.
If I run it now (wlan is working, I'm connected through it), I still
get the same error:

root@mordax:/usr/src/tools/tools/ath # athregs/athregs -i wlan0
athregs: wlan0: Invalid argument

I'm I missing something?

That is HAL_ESELFTEST. That means that the NIC failed to self-test.

CAn you compile up tools/tools/ath/athregs and run athregs -i wlan0
when this happens?
