[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #21216] Build fails if automake-1.8 is present in system

2013-10-28 Thread Marko Lindqvist
Follow-up Comment #8, bug #21216 (project freeciv):

patch should be rejected on the basis of submitter not able to read
 line 240 autogen.sh
 # automake and aclocal version numbers must be kept in sync

Well, at least the fact that I kept them in sync (updated aclocal requirement
like automake requirement) would indicate that I have no problems in reading
what I have written myself.

Follow-up Comment #1:

Rulesets currently work as they are. Once we fix is_native_tile_to_extra() to
handle extras that are specials like it does for bases and roads, things may
change a bit (for example currently Farmland alteration would be considered
possible even if tile has no existign Irrigation)

[Freeciv-Dev] Appdata file for freeciv

2013-10-28 Thread Ankur Sinha
Hi,

I've written up an appdata file for freeciv/freeciv-server so it can be
part of gnome-software in a more complete manner. Please find it
attached.

It'll be great if this file can be included in future releases, and
optionally, if the build system could install it to /usr/share/appdata.
The installation isn't necessary, since us maintainers can do it
manually too.

Please feel free to edit the file to improve the descriptions, add more
screenshots etc. The screenshots must be 16:9 in aspect ratio though.
Here's a post explaining how to make such screenshots:
http://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/2013/10/08/how-to-take-169-screenshots/

More information on appdata files:
http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/

Thanks,
Warm regards,
Ankur (FranciscoD)

Being in mailing list only it gets easily forgotten. It's ok to submit
just the files you've got, if you don't want to make entire patch of
it. Once patch ticket is opened, others can continue the work to make
necessary build system changes (having the files in tarball,
installing to correct location)

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #21060] Cosmetic issues in Windows installer language selection

2013-10-28 Thread Marko Lindqvist
Follow-up Comment #2, bug #21060 (project freeciv):

Here's an idea (as a patch) I'm going to test next time I have opportunity to
use Windows environment.

List language names instead of codes in the dropdown.
Have code to convert from language name to language code generated to
nsi-file, for each language:

${If} $LangName == Finnish
  StrCpy $DefaultLanguageCode fi
${EndIf}

Patch is for gtk2-client version only. Once I've got that working, it's
trivial to make similar changes to sdl-client version.
