Follow-up Comment #1, bug #23107 (project freeciv): _Unit in question seems to be Frigate (what kind of actor is that?)_ My guess is that it can establish trade routes, enter marketplaces and/or help build some wonder. (I assume that the ruleset haven't been updated after the flag requirements of the caravn actions moved to the ruleset) _is that change ok, as this is about setting diplomat reservations - planning diplomat attacks_ It was OK when it was done. It should have changed (to test for the spy actions it uses) before caravan action support went in. I must have overlooked it. (Except that targeted needs a new) Use them again. Not sure if the defaults (when no ruleset definition is found) should change too. Advantage: Ruleset authors get the old mnemonics by default. If it spreads it will pick a direction, test if it can spread in that direction and then spread. Use cases: * Dirt Road (auto on city tile) spreads out of a city. * Whaler unit builds a Rain Deer extra on an island. The Rain Deers spread to cover the island. * Spy unit builds a Pest Insect deep inside enemy terrain. Unless the enemy gets rid of them they will spread and reduce food production for his cities. WIP patch. Still missing: * Notification. A worker may have to give up what he is working on if the wrong extra spreads to its tile. Should tile owner e notified? A player that can see the tile? * Test how current implementation affects performance. * Probability should be effect controlled.
