Details:
Might be related to our theme and to the fact that we have background image
there. It gets drawn completely black. Occasionally parts of it get redrawn
correctly (activating a unit gets unit info part to show correctly for a
while) until it gets redrawn as black again.
Reproduced in Debian Testing / Jessie, and crosser based Windows build.
The thing with Messages and Chat report location is that it affects the
shape of the panel. If the Messages and Chat reports are Merged to main view,
the left panel goes all the way from the top of the windows to the bottom.
Otherwise Messages and Chat reports are partly below it.
