Re: [Freedos-devel] [anounce] defrag beta 0.4
[EMAIL PROTECTED] schreef: Hi, I am hereby, finaly releasing a new version of defrag. This version should fix all known bugs, so it should be ready for FreeDOS version 1.0. The speed is still not optimal, I optimized some stuff here and there and I added a message on start up to install an XMS driver. is the XMS-driver required, or just for speedup? The XMS driver is not required. The message is only displayed when extended memory is reported by int 15h and no XMS driver is installed. this also means minimum platform is 286, or 386? No, but in order to use the TUI you do have to have at least EGA. no new features indicates no FAT32 support (yet?) ? Maybe i was a bit to quick, probably there will be a new version that supports FAT32 (a DJGPP version). And maybe i'll also add some additional checking of the file system when the program starts up. I'll integrate this new version to the next FreeDOS distribution. Is there any separate documentation about how to use Defrag, or only the in-program HELP (defrag.hlp)? [Freedos-devel] kernel administration
Hi! Well, looks like Bart is gone. Who now will manage the kernel (reconcile patches, update CVS, release intermediate snapshots)? For example, my current todo contains at least 6 bugfixes for dsk.c, and 2 which I don't know how to handle. Beside this, there optimized out some hundreths of bytes. --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the new InstallShield X.
