Indeed! I tried hard to reproduce it at the time but I missed that to trigger the bug a FAT12/16 drive also needs to be involved. I was doing extensive testing but only copied files from network/cdrom-style drives and then kept them on FAT32 (there was lots of FAT32->FAT32 copying though).
