[Freedos-user] Edlin 2.10c is on SourceForge!

2007-06-02 Thread Gregory Pietsch
This time I think I got it right. In 2.10b I misspelled Esperanto in
three places and forgot to update a couple of files. Assume they are
fixed now! -- Gregory Pietsch

[Freedos-user] Edlin 2.10a is on Sourceforge!

2007-05-28 Thread Gregory Pietsch
I had a few problems with 2.10, so there's a new 2.10a on Sourceforge.
(Brain cramp - next time, make sure it compiles before making it a
release ...)

[Freedos-user] FreeDOS Edlin 2.10 is on SourceForge!

2007-05-26 Thread Gregory Pietsch
Yes, FreeDOS freaks, there is a new version of FreeDOS Edlin, the one
program without which the entire FreeDOS project would endlessly float
into the lilac mist. It's just basically a cleanup. There's a new
language translation in there, but you have to download it to figure out
which language it is.

 Hi Jim, I all!

What should change with FreeDOS 2.0? Some ideas, I think, they have to
 be a must :-)

Re: [Freedos-user] [XT] edit.exe seems to hang

I'm not sure if it'll be helpful or not, but as I'm working on my XT,
I'll post things I come across that seem to not work on this platform.

In this case, running edit.exe simply hangs. The drive accesses for a
moment, the cursor sits blinking, and nothing happens until I push the
reset button.

I doubt if it makes a difference, but my installation currently
consists of a sys'd drive, with files from the CD copied over when I
had the drive subsystem plugged in to a later i686 motherboard for
testing. I figured all the binaries I might need to get things going
would be on there :)

There's only one solution for this: use edlin instead. ;-)

Am I supposed to feel insulted? I tried to write a better edlin than
edlin, and this is what people think of my work! ;-)

[Freedos-user] Edlin 2.5 is out!

2005-05-03 Thread Gregory Pietsch
I figure I might as well as make an announcement: Edlin 2.5 is out! I
added making backup files to Edlin.

If anyone wants to help with the items on Edlin's TODO list, don't
hesitate to send me a patch.
