This is not only a problem with Descent. Such problem exists with other installers running under FreeDOS kernel too. For example, you can't install MS Network Client for DOS and, if I remember correctly, GalaxyWrite too, when running under FreeDOS kernel. I don't know any particulars about Decent. How about posting information from your config.sys and autoexec.bat file showing what driver and extender you are using and the settings for them?
