Yes, it is.  This is what we've heard.

I don't know any.

 Also for interest what current OS's use FreeType for rendering fonts
 on displays.

Virtually all OSes which use X11.  iPhone and Android use it too.

 If manufactures use FreeType in their products how do you want the
 credits for your work to be announced?

Symbian and RIM OS also use FreeType for rendering fonts on displays. I know 
because I put it there :-)
