Easy enough to change,

you can also hit the maximize button and get rid of the border all together.

he's complaining that the web site looks like the user
has set the root window to white.

I didn't notice before, but I agree, it's not pleasant
to look at. I wonder what would make a better background,
a gradient or an image.

That's rather too vague; can you be a little more specific about your issue,
please?

Well, FVWM is extensible just not likely in a way that's obvious to you, but
at this point it's not only irrelevant, it's not worth the effort trying to
convince you of it either. ;)

FVWM: Website

2016-07-09 Thread Ethan Grammatikidis
Just a quick note regarding the current website: The basic design is nice, but
the white border gives me a headache when trying to read any of the actual
text. Some desktop image (scaled or tiled) would likely be a big improvement,
but so would a darker solid color.

I won't be replying to queries; I'm unsubscribing now as I haven't used FVWM
for a long time. Despite trying for years, I can't really get on with the
configuration language. I'm much happier with systems with few features
built-in, but scriptable in ways that make it easy for me to add more. I get
less confused that way. :)

So it turns out I did. To that end, I simply took the files and put them in
the right place, the result of which you can find here:

https://github.com/fvwmorg/fvwm/tree/ta/new-default-config

I've done nothing about moving/consolidating files, nor have I done much work
on updating the syntax of the files.

That said, you can get a good idea of what it's doing by moving your ~/.fvwm
directory out of the way and starting up that version of fvwm.

I'm hoping it'll be a useful starting place for someone.

Any questions, do please ask.

Kindly,
Thomas Adam
