Well, today with help from Apple Support, we were able to upgrade the library files to work on our iMac running Snow Leopard. When I have time on Wednesday, we'll try to connect this external drive to the Mac Mini running OS 10.10.5 Yosemite. It involved changing the file extension on the iTunes Library document and moving some iTunes Library files to the Previous iTunes folder, as well as renaming some files. When all is finished, I will write down what we did to benefit others. For reference, the Apple technician who has been assisting me at Apple Care is Matthew Davis. He works Sat. and Mon - Wed. 12 - 11pm EST. I believe you can call his extension an a message will tell you how to proceed to create a new case.
