Virtual Intel Mac for G multiprocessors
I know that it is generally said that a G anything cannot run Snow Leopard. However, I run Virtual PC on my iBook G4 so I know that a program can be created to emulate an Intel Mac, and it would probably work best if the PPC Mac had at least two processors. So, what work has been done on this and how can we help? I expect many of you are pretty tired of hearing it can't be done. I'm tired of Apple leaving us behind. Time we did something about it. So, who do we need to talk to to get this rolling? Re: Virtual Intel Mac for G multiprocessors
I'd say it is better than no solution at all, which is where we are at the moment. I am not concerned about speed as long as it works. We've all gotten use to things being almost instant. Too bad. Considering how poky Rosetta was on the first generation Intel Macs -- and that was without having to emulate the rest of the operating system -- I can't imagine that emulating an Intel Mac to a useful level would be anything short of glacial even on a high end G5. I empathise, but that's just not a workable solution. -- personal: http://www.cameronkaiser.com/ -- Cameron Kaiser * Floodgap Systems * www.floodgap.com * ckai...@floodgap.com -- BOND THEME NOW PLAYING: The World is Not Enough -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. Back up options
Hi folks. So I'm getting a G5 and I am wondering what is the best way to back it up on an external firewire 800 hard drive. Is there software that will do this automatically? Thank you all so much for your help. blank MDD
I have a n ATI 9800 which seems to over heat the MDD dual 1.42GHz. So I put a slot fan in it. For the first time the MDD started doing the wind tunnel effect and then the screen turned off. I have removed the fan. No change. Changed to a different ATI 9800, no change. Replaced video card with the first ATI AGP. Still no change. Any ideas? Peace, Anand Was it the video card or the processor overheating? -Jonas I think the processor because after about an hour I would get the grey screen of death telling me I had to restart.
