G5 Optical Drive Data Cable

2012-02-27 Thread Avid_Fan

I'm in need of an optical drive data cable. Are they easy to pick up
on the cheap? Do they use a standard data cable from any computer
parts place?

Cheers,
Evan

Hi,

They're standard for whatever their interface is at the drive end:- ATA for
ATA/IDE, SATA for SATA etc., but the other end might vary between systems,
depending on the motherboard/adapter connection.

The cable in the G5 PowerMac is a standard IDE/PATA cable,
