How to Auto-shutdown during sleep?

2011-01-31 Thread Geke
I have set up a Mac for public use. It starts up and shuts down
automatically at the beginning and end of the day -- but the shutting
down works only if the Mac is being used at the scheduled time.

I like to have it sleep and log off after some time though, because
there’s not that many people using it.
How to make it shut down according to schedule even if it’s sleeping
or logged off?

It’s a GigE with 10.4.11 and limited-user accounts in English, German
and Italian to accommodate different users; that’s why I let it log
off.

Any ideas? I have the feeling I’m missing an easy way to do this. An
Applescript might work, but I haven’t looked into that yet.

I believe there are some timer apps on MacUpdate that will do this, but
it's not something I've specifically looked into.
