 Hello everyone,
I finally got a replacement motherboard for my G3 Blue and White (Rev1).
I need to know so some stuff about doing some upgrades to it:

What is the best video card I can get for it?

believe it or not... fully support all the core stuff through
leopard (if you spring for a g4)

Also I am using the CPU that came with it, what are the jumper settings
 for
the highest clock speed for it?

try a 400 to 450, but mine was unstable (went to g4 + fan an then OK,
and 400 went in my beige g3 at 466..)

120 GB trade size (131,072 theoretical maximum) without Hard Drive

Practically unlimited with HDST (3 x 500 GB is certainly possible).

What is the best video card I can get for it?

The standard one, or a Radeon 7000 PCI version.

What is the Max amount of RAM I can put in it?

1 GB maximum, as 4 x 256 MB PC100.

As a practical matter, you would be better off using a Gigabit E-net
G4 as your starting point (2 GB maximum, as 4 x 512 MB PC100/PC133).

Or, a Digital Audio (1.5 GB maximum, as 3 x 512 MB PC133).

In every case mentioned, the RAM must be low density, but not
necessarily low profile.

Re: Power Mac G3 Blue And White Upgrade info

2009-03-05 Thread Stephen Weber
Thanks everyone,
I just found the RAM online, also I think I'm going to go with the Radeon
7000 PCI since I want to put the standard graphics card that came with my
BW in my Starmax 4000/200.

Also I'm just going to get a 80GB Western Digital drive (I don't need more
than that) sometime soon.

Thanks for your help everyone,

Stephen
