The gray disk you you are using does not recognize the trackpad, and is looking
for a bluetooth mouse. You will need a retail disk, or a gray install disc
from a later machine.

I have recently aquired a G4 12 iBook. The 'book had syst 10.4.8 on
it but I had no passwords etc. so I deceided to re-install the same
system using the disks that i had and had used on various other
computers including a 17 Powerbook. All was well until the computer
restarted to begin the install process. On the screen appeared a
graphic depicting what looked like a wireless mouse with a diagram
showing battery installation. The install stopped at that point and
would go no further. I simply could not figure out how to get past
this mouse diagram thing. A subsequent install of Syst 10.5 was
successful, but I need Syst 10.4 in order to use Classic. Must I
totally erase the drive? Does this mouse thing reside on the 10.4
install disk or what? Any advise would be welcomed.

There are folks that know how to get past the machine specific grey
disk stuff. It's a simple file removal. Maybe someone will speak up.
