Try one of the Elgato EyeTV devices (I recommend the eyetve plus). http://www.elgato.com/ It's like having Tivo. Their software (eyetv 3) gives you the ability to time shift effortlessly. Also allows connecting your vhs tape deck for digitizing old tapes. Connects by USB. Includes Toast. Good luck! About a month ago when I checked, I found an obscure FAQ item at the Eye TV web site indicating that it is not compatible with Verizon FiOS.
