Hi,

use the UStream Producer or Wirecast Producer and get live video and stream it

You want the PB to serve live video? This might work:

This is the Open source parts of Apple’s Quicktime Streaming Server. It’s an
older version since the latest requires osx 10.5.

get live dv cam video from old Powerbook to newer MacBook Pro and stream online

2016-06-28 Thread lipwak
Hi,

I have a 15-inch PowerBook (Double layer SD, 1.67GHz running OS 10.4.11).
I can connect my DV cam to it and get live video using any number of apps
(iMovie HD, Gawker, probably others). I can connect the DV cam to my
MacBook Pro (2.3 ghz, Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013, OSX 10.11.5) using a
Thunderbolt adapter and use the UStream Producer or Wirecast Producer and
get live video and stream it online that way. My question is, how can I get
live video to my MacBook Pro from the Powerbook, so that I can either just
watch it on the MBP or stream it online?

So far, I can't get the video from the Powerbook to the MBP.

Using Ustream Producer nor the Wirecast Producer (the same program really)
on the MBP can't add the DV video so far. (The Ustream Producer that is
supposed to work on 10.4 won't run on the Powerbook and as far as I know,
they don't make a version of the Wirecast Producer that will work on that
either.)

I have tried to Share it using Screen Sharing turned on on the Powerbook. I
see nothing on the MBP.

I have tried using Quicktime Broadcaster, creating a SDP file which I
brought over to the MBP. I see nothing on the MBP using both QT Player 10.4
and QT Player 7 (7.6.6) The Powerbook side looks to be set up correctly and
I see video in Quicktime Broadcaster there.

Is there a way to get this to work?

I'd be happy just to see the video (and hear the audio, of course) on the
MBP but it would be nice to be able to stream it online too. I could use
the cam and the Powerbook like a remote camera...

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

John
