TomeViewer lets you see what the file looks like, I.E. contents, order of various items, etc. Since it's "Just a file of information", I would start 'building my own". See if you can find a 'file viewer/ editor' that will let you use an existing 'tome' rather than 'starting from scratch. There are 'file editors'' out there that are pretty resourceful reading 'specialized' formats. Bruce Johnson seems to think highly of "TextWrangler". There may be others also.
