I don't think you can get the processor too cold to work. Have you  
heard about the extreme overclockers? From a slashdot.org summary:

 During CES a group of overclockers with access to liquid nitrogen  
 and liquid helium for the extra boost of coldness cooled an AMD  
 Phenom II X4 chip to -232 degrees Celsius. Once they got the chip  
 cooled to this frigid temperature, they pushed the clock speed all  
 the way up to 6.5GHz, which is a world record for a quad-core CPU

That is -385 degrees F. So the extra few cooling degrees offered by a  
better heat sink will not hurt your chip. On the contrary, the extra  
cooling will actually help the chip.

The heatsink (copper) is the exact match, no modification at all. MDD
