Summary: Google talk avatar not good any more!

Initial Comment:
Hello

I've just changed to beta6 and now, the same icon I've used for all my
accounts, it's rejected for Google Talk.
The reason? The picture is too large :-/
I've entered in my gmail account and upload the picture (the same bad
picture) directly in my personal settings. It worked!

How can I handle this?

Thanx a lot!

Summary: Icons Disappear after Upgrade

Initial Comment:
I just upgraded to Beta6, and when I started gaim, a bunch of my icons in the
message window, all my smileys, and all my buddy icons are missing. The only
message window icons that show up are the following:
Bold
Italic
Underline
Font face
Reset formatting

All others are missing, and smileys do not show up, either. I tried
uninstalling then reinstalling, and that did not help, either.

Is this a bug in this release, is something up, or can anybody offer any
suggestions?

Thanks

I am attaching a screen shot. You can see that only a few of the items
normally in a chat window are no longer there. Additionally, no buddy
icons are visible in my buddy list. Also, if you look in the middle of the
existing chat room, no smileys appear - only the envelope similar to the
envelope that you get when MSN users send you a new buddy icon but you
haven't completely received it yet.

There is something messed up with your installation or something.
(Possibly something wrong with your GTK+ runtime installation).

I'd suggest reinstalling both gaim and gtk+ and then if the issue still
occurs capture some debug output (`gaim.exe -d debug.log`) to see if
there is anything useful there.

Summary: Memory leak in gaim-2.0.0beta6

Initial Comment:
There seems to be a memory leak in gaim-2.0.0beta6 that does not effect
usability, but continues to eat up resources until the system starts paging.
Windows XP SP2 Fully Patched, Gaim Idles at ~30 MB ram until you start IM'ing
people, and then ive seen it go all the way up to 400+MB.
4msn accounts, 3aim, doesn't seem to matter which sorting method (there use to
be a leak with sort by log size) or which account has the Messaging window
open.

Reverted to gaim-2.0.0beta5 and this seemed to fix the problem, but AIM
accounts showed up as '(unknown) account type' until you reset them.

Any other info I can provide?

Thanks

Ben

Summary: crash with MSN group chat

Initial Comment:
Gaim crashed with group chat. At the moment of writing some people want to
group chat with me on MSN. But every time I get invited, Gaim crashes.

The funny thing is, at first I ended up in a group chat with them, but then
suddenly (?) Gaim crashed.

Now it is crashing the same way with AIM chats! I haven't tried any other
chats besides MSN and now AIM. I can't chat!

I've been having the same problem. For at least a week, probably 2.

When I am in a chat, sometimes it crashes within seconds, but sometimes I
get a minute or 2.

Unfortunately, MSN doesn't allow you to approve before being sucked into a
chat. If I walk away for 5 minutes, when i come back i find that someone
invited me to a chat and it crashed, and i lost all the messages from
private messages that people sent me during that time.

I tried to get some technical data to post here, but I was unable to.

I tried un-installing and re-installing. No luck. Also, I thought I
might have recently upgraded to the beta6 from the beta5, and that might
have been involved. So, i un-installed beta6 and installed beta5, but no
luck.

I have been driven to using Meebo's web interface temporarily, but I don't
like it. I hope you get this worked out soon!

My apologies, it's a little bit chaotic inside my head.

The 'Gaim screens' I refer to are the main window and the chat window.

Every time, except for the first one, I never got to see any messages or
any of the buddies.

I changed priority to 7 because for me it's a killer bug. And I see no way
for me to work around it. Though it's not a bug that will affect everyone
all the time.

sorry, pressed return when trying to hit backspace. And I see no way to
edit the message.

[continues]
When Gaim crashed for the first time I suspect someone else got added to
the chat, but I'm not sure, as I never saw it coming (bad phun intended)

After that I tried to restart Gaim and it went dead a few seconds later.

I tried to get some gdb info, but it showed multiple ??() methods.
As a Gentoo user I then emerged Gaim with the debug flag on. I then ran
gdb gaim and waited.

It was just another matter of seconds before I got invited again. The
funny thing was though that this time the Gaim screens were open, but
filled with white. Later gdb would tell me that Gaim was still running.

Now I think of it, yesterday someone said he tried to add me to a MSN
chat, but couldn't. I'm not sure if this is at all related though.

gdb speaks of gstreamer to be the last one called (right?). I don't have
any problems with sound afaik. Gaim bleeps and squeaks fine when needed.

Summary: gaim status, stays away

Initial Comment:
When gaim status says away, it will not go automatically back to available when
i move the mouse or do anything else on my computer, i have to manually change
it back to available and then it will go back to away after 5mins of so called
inactivity

H. A couple of weeks ago, it was perpetually away for me, even if i
manually changed it. I couldn't get it to say anything but away. Funny
thing was, it showed to ME that it was available, but to others that I was
away. I never said or did anything about it, and it went away in a few
days. Not sure if this is related to your problem.

Summary: GAIM crashes on status change

Initial Comment:
I have Windows XP, SP2
GAIM Beta 2,v6

When I change the status from Away (which it the status it uses when I open it)
to anything else I get this error:

AppName: gaim.exeAppVer: 2.0.0.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180Offset: 00037740

This only happens when I double-click and open the window then select the
status from the pulldown. It doesn't happen when I right-click on the tray icon
and change the status.

Looks to be duplicate to gaim-Bugs-1653351

Summary: Icons Disappear after Upgrade

Initial Comment:
I just upgraded to Beta6, and when I started gaim, a bunch of my icons in the
message window, all my smileys, and all my buddy icons are missing. The only
message window icons that show up are the following:
Bold
Italic
Underline
Font face
Reset formatting

All others are missing, and smileys do not show up, either. I tried
uninstalling then reinstalling, and that did not help, either.

Is this a bug in this release, is something up, or can anybody offer any
suggestions?

Thanks

Reinstalling GTK+ fixed the issue. Thanks! Closing bug.
