(Possibly something wrong with your GTK+ runtime installation). I'd suggest reinstalling both gaim and gtk+ and then if the issue still occurs capture some debug output (`gaim.exe -d debug.log`) to see if there is anything useful there. -- Comment By: Anthony (duerra) Date: 2007-03-14 11:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=924757 Originator: YES I am attaching a screen shot. Category: msn Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: Patrick Huizinga (sobani) Assigned to: Stu Tomlinson (nosnilmot) Summary: crash with MSN group chat Initial Comment: Gaim crashed with group chat. At the moment of writing some people want to group chat with me on MSN. But every time I get invited, Gaim crashes. The funny thing is, at first I ended up in a group chat with them, but then suddenly (?) Gaim crashed. -- Comment By: LadyLilya (ladylilya) Date: 2007-03-14 16:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1735716 Originator: NO Now it is crashing the same way with AIM chats! I haven't tried any other chats besides MSN and now AIM. I can't chat! -- Comment By: LadyLilya (ladylilya) Date: 2007-03-05 09:52 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1735716 Originator: NO I've been having the same problem. For at least a week, probably 2. When I am in a chat, sometimes it crashes within seconds, but sometimes I get a minute or 2. Unfortunately, MSN doesn't allow you to approve before being sucked into a chat. If I walk away for 5 minutes, when i come back i find that someone invited me to a chat and it crashed, and i lost all the messages from private messages that people sent me during that time. I tried to get some technical data to post here, but I was unable to. I tried un-installing and re-installing. No luck. Also, I thought I might have recently upgraded to the beta6 from the beta5, and that might have been involved. So, i un-installed beta6 and installed beta5, but no luck. I have been driven to using Meebo's web interface temporarily, but I don't like it. I hope you get this worked out soon! -- Comment By: Patrick Huizinga (sobani) Date: 2007-02-25 18:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1728771 Originator: YES My apologies, it's a little bit chaotic inside my head. The 'Gaim screens' I refer to are the main window and the chat window. Every time, except for the first one, I never got to see any messages or any of the buddies. I changed priority to 7 because for me it's a killer bug. And I see no way for me to work around it. Though it's not a bug that will affect everyone all the time. -- Comment By: Patrick Huizinga (sobani) Date: 2007-02-25 17:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1728771 Originator: YES sorry, pressed return when trying to hit backspace. And I see no way to edit the message. [continues] When Gaim crashed for the first time I suspect someone else got added to the chat, but I'm not sure, as I never saw it coming (bad phun intended) After that I tried to restart Gaim and it went dead a few seconds later. I tried to get some gdb info, but it showed multiple ??() methods. As a Gentoo user I then emerged Gaim with the debug flag on. I then ran gdb gaim and waited. It was just another matter of seconds before I got invited again. The funny thing was though that this time the Gaim screens were open, but filled with white. Later gdb would tell me that Gaim was still running. Now I think of it, yesterday someone said he tried to add me to a MSN chat, but couldn't. I'm not sure if this is at all related though. gdb speaks of gstreamer to be the last one called (right?). I don't have any problems with sound afaik. [Gaim-bugs] [ gaim-Bugs-1680076 ] Icons Disappear after Upgrade
Bugs item #1680076, was opened at 2007-03-13 13:24 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by duerra You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=100235aid=1680076group_id=235 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: win32 Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Anthony (duerra) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Icons Disappear after Upgrade Initial Comment: I just upgraded to Beta6, and when I started gaim, a bunch of my icons in the message window, all my smileys, and all my buddy icons are missing. The only message window icons that show up are the following: Bold Italic Underline Font face Reset formatting All others are missing, and smileys do not show up, either. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling, and that did not help, either. Is this a bug in this release, is something up, or can anybody offer any suggestions? Thanks -- Comment By: Anthony (duerra) Date: 2007-03-14 18:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=924757 Originator: YES Reinstalling GTK+ fixed the issue. Thanks! Closing bug. -- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-03-14 12:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO There is something messed up with your installation or something. You can see that only a few of the items normally in a chat window are no longer there. Additionally, no buddy icons are visible in my buddy list. Also, if you look in the middle of the existing chat room, no smileys appear - only the envelope similar to the envelope that you get when MSN users send you a new buddy icon but you haven't completely received it yet.
