[Audyssey] A new sound pack for SoundRTS

2008-04-06 Thread robjoy
Hello all,
Those who want something new for their shiny SoundRTS game, i've merged
the two great soundpacks from (Ken Downey and Brian Smart) and Sebastian
Delit), and replaced the older version of Scansoft daniel with Scansoft
Lee (australian accent).
The pack contains all of the in-game voices except those of the
campaign, and if it will be a great success, i will update it when a
newer version of the game or the packs will be available.
The download link is:

 Hi Dark,
Generally speaking I believe Speech recognition can do from 150 to 200
words a minute which is slower than natural speech, but works fairly
well on modern day computers. The problem isn't really the speed of the
speech but the training involved in using SR technology. If you want
accurateSR you need to train it before you can use it.

 Dark wrote:
Hmmm, well yelling charge! in sound rts might be fun, but don't you
 have
to speak incredibly slowly for those speech recognition things to work?
 And
those speech sensative meneues on telephones can be an absolute
 nightmare
because of getting things very wrong, that would make a game
 slightly
 frustrating imho.

If the tech was there for really good speech recognition and quick
 response,
I'm all for it, but I'm not sure what state things are at along those
 lines
 at the second.

[Audyssey] Status of DanZGames

2008-04-06 Thread Damien Sadler
Hi guys,
As you are all aware, DanZGames is closing shortly, and I have seen that many
of you are wondering what is going to happen to the games.
I am currently in the process of arranging with Dan Zingaro that I may buy the
rights to his games so that I may continue developing and supporting them. I'm
awaiting a reply from him so that I may decide whether I can afford such a
transaction.
I will get back to you when I have more information.
Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Status of DanZGames

2008-04-06 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Damien,
Perhaps we can colaberate on this goal. I have been considering this
very thing, and have been putting a section up on my site to host Dan's
games. I thought of either buying the rights to his games or simply
getting permission to eventually upgrade them to Java or some other
language so that they might be multiplatform.
As I have been busy I haven't inquired as yet. So if Dan and you work
something else out cool. If just know I am interested in aquiring the
rights to those games. I am also interested in eventually taking over
and resuming work on Dark Destroyer and Tarzan from PB Games. Though,
obviously all work on any titles has to wait until I finish with Raceway
and the other stuff I got from James North.

for a few years but it's few and far between when I play. The coded
 combat
skills and crafting skills are quite fantastic, though. The game is well
worth it, especially if you are in to Tolkien's world---which admittedly
 I'm
not. I really enjoy RPI's and I hope that if people try this game, they
will find great enjoyment out of it.

 Warmly,
 Jaliya

Wow. I'm seriously going to give this a try. While playing miriani, maybe
it'll help keep me from going bored out of my mind and running around
repairing debris. And I also have tonnes of schoolwork to do. Should be fun.

 Hey all,

Thanks to a post on the Audio Games forum, I've found a resource
management game that's worth playing. You're a Golem craftsman, and
you construct your own golems from parts which are then made from
resources to attack players and monsters with. That's not all, though.
When you sign up, you have a workshop, complete with a worktable to
atatch parts to golems and also to repair cevered limbs in combat.
Also, the game actually has a world. Your workshop has a location,
where you can go out as your character and see the surrounding areas
of it. Also, the combat descriptions aren't detailed, but they're nice
enough to read, unlike other games where it's just a table of numbers
with nothing about advancement, etc, it's always presented in a
spreadsheat-like form, but not here. Each event is a round, and events
aren't placed in the same rounds, providing easier reading of combat
 results.

I haven't yet provided the compus, but if there is anyone on here who
plays from the AGF, do you know if the map screen used in other areas
is the same as the other map? If it's the same, well then I think this
is the first game with exploring that I've seen where maps are
 accessible, finally!

Check it out at: http://www.muelsfell.com and be sure to enter Origa
without quotes into the refer field. Just wondering if anyone knows
what the refer thing does anyway, when someone refers you?

 Thanks.

 Hi guys,
As you are all aware, DanZGames is closing shortly, and I have seen that
many of you are wondering what is going to happen to the games.
I am currently in the process of arranging with Dan Zingaro that I may buy
the rights to his games so that I may continue developing and supporting
them. I'm awaiting a reply from him so that I may decide whether I can
 afford such a transaction.
I will get back to you when I have more information.
 Thanks.

 Damien

 Hi,
Dan has released a patch for each game that unlocks them and makes them
full games. Before I post them I am planning on making a new setup and
installer for all of the games so that they will be the full version
 without requiring the patch files.

[Audyssey] out of comms artifacts in miriani?

Hi

So, I'm hoping to be out of comms this week (I'm going with a friend who's on
spring break, so he'll be on about 16 hours a day etc).

So when we get out of comms, how popular are out of comms artifacts (a flat
heavy object, that claw, the chip, etc)? 1 in every 20? 30? Etc. We're grabbing
my surveyer on the way there, so not sure. Its 3700 ly out...we had, um, well
his electricity went out last night and bye bye voyager. anyway. Was just
curious how long I need to stay out there in order to get that receiver thing?

Subject: [Audyssey] out of comms artifacts in miriani?

 Hi

So, I'm hoping to be out of comms this week (I'm going with a friend who's
on spring break, so he'll be on about 16 hours a day etc).

So when we get out of comms, how popular are out of comms artifacts (a
flat heavy object, that claw, the chip, etc)? 1 in every 20? 30? Etc.
We're grabbing my surveyer on the way there, so not sure. Its 3700 ly
out...we had, um, well his electricity went out last night and bye bye
voyager. anyway. Was just curious how long I need to stay out there in
order to get that receiver thing?

Have a good day from Tyler C. Wood!
