[Audyssey] six dragons mud impressions

2016-01-12 Thread dark
I've just started playing this one.
it's been around for some time, but they're looking for new
players and making some truly awesome access additions
(the
display for combat is particularly good), they also have a
great
soundpack.
To dive right in, the connection info is
6dragons.tk port 4100
I'll add links for the soundpack and the main website at the
bottom of this e-mail.
For those who want to look me up, my character is an angel
called
Lyradel, (angels sounded fun to play, particularly for
someone
who's usually a paladin guy).
First, I love the descriptions in game, and the soundpack
rocks!
it's not quite like the alter pack, but it's probably the most
extensive msp pack I've seen for any mud, definitely more
than
materiamagica, I particularly love the little music stings.
Access wise, for a mud with extensive combat options, the
combat display is great and I had no trouble keeping up with
my
screen reader, which is my concern in several muds (it's not
nice
to have to either reprogram the hole interface or have your
screen
reader at fever pitch), indeed the combat display is one of
the
best I've seen for getting the information across while
maintaining the atmosphere. I also very much enjoy the
exploring,
descriptions and ability to talk to characters. The tutorial
was
good, and I also like the way that I'm finding quests, such as
those for Jonah and the guild quest. The business about
typing
exact text responses took a little getting used to, but unlike
some
other games I've seen that use this format, I rather like the
way
your highlighted what text to actually say to the npc in
question
rather than just being told "tell bob about the thunder lizard
invasion" and then be expected to play guess the syntax.
I've done a bit of fighting in the sewers, explored paleon and
wandered into the wilderness. I love the way the city is large
enough to feel like a real place, but not so large as to get
confusing, and the descriptions are certainly evocative.
oddly for
the wilderness, I couldn't unlock the gate, so had to use my
wings to fly over it which was odd.
Now for one or two things I'm not sure of.
First, I decided to try the jeweler profession, (I hope I get
chance
to try others at some point sinse I do enjoy varying activities
in
games). The problem I'm having is finding a quarry or a place
to
mine so that I can get startted.
I also wonder if I have the journal commands correct, sinse
currently if I type "journal" it tells me the next task, but I can
only
get a general description of say the tutorial or Jonah's
errands,
and not a replay of what quest I'm doing, just the title. This
is
okay for now, but if I forget what response I need it could be
a
problem.
It would also be nice from an access perspective if when
those
tripple xp messages appear, you could have them written
with
spaces.
Eg, solve the code with w s w e w ) F G W k.
Sinse screen readers pronounce everything in words, it'd
save
the need to go and look over the individual line letter by letter
with a review curser.
Other than these, I'm really liking the mud, the atmosphere,
the
quests, the activities, and I look forward to exploring more of
it.
I'd also urge anyone who fancies a well described game with
great activities to try it out. It's not a totale hack n slash like
Aardwolf, neither is it a crafting realism affair like Clok, it's
very
much it's own game with it's own history and ethos.

Re: [Audyssey] Playing games with a Bluetooth Headset

2016-01-12 Thread valiant8086

Hi.
I don't believe you can, if you could it would require some lightning to
B USB adapter. Having said that if the iPhone 7 does away with the
headset jack I think it's likely the wireless earPods that are supposed
to come with it will have less latency than traditional bluetooth.

Hi,

Is it possible to play games that require stereo or 3D output with a
Bluetooth headset? If so, is there a specific type that anyone likes the
best?

Thanks,

Hurrah!the link posted correctly!

for anyone looking, you can also find the soundpack under music on the main
six dragons site over at www.6dragons.tk.

You'll find the download link somewhere down the page (it's a big file, but
worth it).
It's zipped in TaGz format, and for some reason it's zipped twice, but I
just extracted twice with 7zip and it was fine.

Hi Lenron.

Sorry, I did try to post the links but for some silly reason the mailing

with them, hopefully that came through.

The soundpack is found at

2016-01-12 Thread Shaun Everiss
Hmmm this really is not going to be good for those wanting to record
audio output for our phones.
I guess if we could have some adaptor that could do headphones that
would be good, however maybe something that could also charge the unit etc.
Saying that wireless in most cases seems to be the norm the only reason
I have not bothered with bluetooth or wireless is the batteries but to
be honest I think it may be time to declutter the wires.

Re: [Audyssey] six dragons mud impressions

2016-01-12 Thread dark
No idea at all I'm afraid. I've only ever used the MusZ alteraeon pack and
Vipmud. I personaly really like Vipmud and never minded paying for it.

others I believe have used mushclient, the client that the MushZ pack is
based on, but I don't know how this works. I've also head of something
called monkey turn, but again I'm not sure on this one I'm afraid.

To be honest though as I've said before, don't expect too much of the
sounds. muds are text games, and alteraeon, amazing though Oriol's work is
has somewhat spoilt people.

classic 6dragons has a very nice soundpack that adds extra to the game, but
that is what it is. So long as you expect another full audio interface like
Alteraeon, every mud you play will disappoint you.

Classic 6 dragons is a nice game irrispective of the sounds, just like Clok,
which has no sounds at all.

Now if you'll excuse me I have a necromancer to slay :D.

Beware the Grue!

Re: [Audyssey] Playing games with a Bluetooth Headset

2016-01-12 Thread Karl Belanger
I know some older headsets could have significant lag. That said, with the two
headsets I've mentioned, I've played Blindfold Breakout, A blind Legend,
Bokurano Debouken 3, and even Mortal Kombat with no issues.

Re: [Audyssey] six dragons mud impressions

2016-01-12 Thread Bogdan Muresan
Hi Dark. What is the best free mud client in wich I can set easy the
pack and all stuff?

Hurrah!the link posted correctly!

for anyone looking, you can also find the soundpack under music on the
main six dragons site over at www.6dragons.tk.

You'll find the download link somewhere down the page (it's a big
file, but worth it).
It's zipped in TaGz format, and for some reason it's zipped twice, but
I just extracted twice with 7zip and it was fine.

hth.

 Hi,

Is it possible to play games that require stereo or 3D output with a
Bluetooth headset? If so, is there a specific type that
anyone likes the

 best?

 Thanks,
