Re: [Audyssey] Songs about gaming, a bit of fun

2007-12-17 Thread Samuel Proulx
Hey,

Leslie Fish did a song on DD gaming called gammers; it has verses on
DD, larping, and computer gaming. She also did a DD related song
called _smashing the balrog_. Good luck finding either of these,
though. MC Frontalot did one of his famous nerdcore raps on the
infocom games of the 80s. As far as I can remember, it was called
something like _it is pitch dark_. It's track 7 off of his latest
album, _secrets from the future_ anyway. unsigned pop-keyboard group
The Capricorns did a track called _Nintendo Song_, featuring game
sounds and lyrics about death. Again, good luck finding it. That's
all that come to mind off the top of my head.

[Audyssey] hollywood poker jaws scripts?

2007-12-01 Thread Samuel Proulx
Hi,

Does anyone have these, or where can I get them? I did search the blind
programming, audyssey, blind cool tech, and audio games forums for
information before asking; I've found many many people asking about
this, but no answers in the archives. Do these scripts have a webpage?
If not, can someone email them to me? Thanks!

Re: [Audyssey] Fwd: Trade Wars Rising: New King of the Hill game type

2007-11-12 Thread Samuel Proulx
Hi,

Trade Wars Rising requires that you fill out an audio captcha (type in
the characters from this image) with no audio alternative when you sign
up. Why are you posting this to a list for blind gamers? It's not
accessible in the least, and it's frankly obvious that the developers
don't care about accessibility or they would've fixed it long ago. I
respectfully submit that your post is off topic for this list.

Re: [Audyssey] mushclient speaking behavior

2007-11-12 Thread Samuel Proulx
Hey,

I have the same problem. The fix is to use insert+s to change jaws from
highlighted to none (just keep hitting insert+s until it says
none). Game text will now read without the backtracking. This
happens, I think, because mushclient likes to not clear the command line
on hitting enter; if you type north and hit enter, north is sent to
the game, then north is highlighted on the command line; you can either
type something else and it'll be replaced, or just hit enter again to
repeat the last command. You can turn this off in the world properties
somewhere, but I'm not sure where; I find it a useful feature for when I
want to repeat the same command several times (like in combat).
