Logically it must be a pretty big sword though, sinse to someone 12 feet tall even a 4 foot longsword would only be a comparatively short blade, ---- and a shortsword would make a handy kitchin knife.

Whether this is reflected in the game I'm not sure, sinse i'm going to download it now.

No, the Cyclops doesn't throw the sord at you, but he does have a pretty long range. That is when you count the length of the sword and the fact he is very tall, maybe 12 feet, he has long arms. Put those two factors together and obviously he has much more range than a skeleton, but not quite the range of a Harpy's lightning bolt or a Centaur's arrow.
