[Audyssey] Getting Back into Mudding

2012-02-07 Thread Kelly Sapergia

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting back into mudding after a few years, and am now
trying to figure out what MUD to go for. I remember playing Miriani, but am
not interested in that one at present. Can anyone recommend any other good
MUDs for a beginner? Also, I've got both VIPMud and MushClient, and am
trying to figure out which of the two is the best one to use. Other than the
fact that VIPMud is shareware, while MushClient is free, are there any major
differences between the two?

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,

I'd recommend cyberassault.org port 1.
It's a modern/scifi mud with lots of changes coming up and a dedicated group
of people working on the world every day.

We're easy going and very friendly to new players.
see the website:
www.cyberassault.org
for more info.
Hope to see ya there

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Back into Mudding

2012-02-07 Thread dark

Hi Kelly.

Alteraeon!

A great fantasy mud with literally thousand of rooms, a completely free and
unique class system where you can learn virtually anything you want, great
writing, and some of the best vi access.

See http://audiogames.net/db.php?id=Alter+Aeon for a more complete
explaanation.

For clients, I personally found Vipmud far easier to use generally, the
output window system, the features such as find text in input etc,
everything just made life far smoother.

however alteraeon is the exception there. Oriol Gomez has created a
mushclient pack for the game that turns alteraeon into what is virtually an
audio rpg.

Not only sounds and music, but also keys to do instant actions in the game
at one press, some very clever settings for recasting spells and other handy
things, and generally making what is already a great game even better.

though I'd advise vipmud if you plan on playing muds generally, as I myself
found it much more user friendly, Alteraeon, and the mushclient pack are the
way to go for a fantastic experience, I just wish I could fix my
current ambience problem otherwise I'd be on there myself.

all the best,

dark.

window in any other mud,

That's a mud that I tried once, and never went back to. Didn't they have a
sound pack? Do they have one for mush? I wouldn't mind giving it another try,
but last time I tried it, the mud was always dead. Nobody around to help out.

Subject: [Audyssey] Getting Back into Mudding

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting back into mudding after a few years,
and am now
trying to figure out what MUD to go for. I remember playing
Miriani, but am
not interested in that one at present. Can anyone recommend any
other good
MUDs for a beginner? Also, I've got both VIPMud and MushClient,
and am
trying to figure out which of the two is the best one to use.
Other than the
fact that VIPMud is shareware, while MushClient is free, are
there any major

differences between the two?

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
Kelly John Sapergia
