Hi Dakotah,

No, sorry, there is no key to check your speed. Maybe I should have made one,
but I found myself too busy staying at the correct speed and lining up on the
ramp to try to use one. So you pretty much have to listen and learn the sound
of your engine for the speed that you need. You can practice this like on the
straightaway. You know if you need 30 MPH listen to how the engine sounds at
just above 25 MPH. The same for like 40 MPH, listen to how it sounds at just
below 50 MPH.

If I do another version, which I wasn't really thinking of, but if I do, I will
add that key.

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

Hi Jeremy,

I'm not sure that my games are exactly friends with Vista, but they can get
along ok with it. grin

I do not run Vista, but from what I understand you can do one of two things and
they will run just fine. One is that you can install them in a folder such as
%appdata%\kitchensinc and then they will run. Or you can install them to the
default folder and run them with administrative rights and they will run.

2008-01-09 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Charles,

Cool, Thanks. Yes, the track is a bit long if say you stay in first gear the
entire time. What I do is to hold down the control key to continuously
accelerate and use the up arrow key to shift gears. I also use the left arrow
key to get to the left side of the track. I get into sixth gear just before
the second turn. I now let off of the control key, hold down the left arrow
key and start pressing the down arrow key to down shift all the way back down
to first gear. Then you know line up on the ramp and accelerate back up to the
speed I need. Of course that is just for the first few buses. After awhile
you don't have time to slow all the way down and accelerate back up. But
anyway that does make the trip to the ramp quicker. I did make the track long
enough to fully accelerate up through all six gears. So 32 was the maximum
number of buses that you could do in version 1, I believe. With the rocket
booster in version 2, I believe that 40 is the maximum now.

So far 23 is my record, so I have not maxed out the game yet.

As you reach certain speeds, it will tell you. You have to gauge between,
let's say, 20 and 40, unless there's a keystroke I don't recall. HTH

Hi Dakotah,

14 buses ain't bad. I know allot of people that would be very happy if they
could do 14.

Maybe I made the game a bit too hard. Don't know though, I like to write the
games so that I can not beat them right off or every time.

Jim: I like the game just as it is, although I would like to have a shorter
track. Then again, maybe it is that long in case you really need to build
up some speed, which is a point that I haven't reached yet.

[Audyssey] Homer on a Harley record

2007-12-02 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi,

I think that I got tired and should have saved the game and came back to it,
but I did set my best record so far.

You will also see that I used the rocket booster, but I don't think that it is
that much of a help until you get out of range without it.
