Re: [Audyssey] JAWS abuse revenge

2007-12-18 Thread Raul a. Gallegos
Hi. While I can't speak for why Jaws does certain things, I can tell you
that the approach that screen readers have with key strokes is no
different than two car manufacturers have about the placement of
buttons, styles, etc on their cars. Take Toyota and Honda for example.
they both make excellent cars, but things work differently in them
because each company feels it is doing the better thing. I realize this
of course does not help you, but hey, if you want some Window-Eyes help,
GW Micro's technical support is legendary and there is a real cool guy
who works for them and he's always willing to help out a fellow
Window-Eyes user. He hasn't been with the company long, but he's used
Vocal-Eyes since version 2 and Window-Eyes since version 1 so he knows
what he's talking about when it comes to Window-Eyes. One thing I can
guarantee if you call GW Micro is that you won't be treated like you are
dumb, nor will you be treated any differently just because you also use
Jaws.

Now, to stop breaking my own rules, I'll not write any more on this
topic, so if you have any questions about this, write privately.

Brandon, cool! What other funny stuff can be done to make JAWS and
synthesizer do that? It was sort of going lower, like spinning!

Have we really run out of topics of conversation? I don't
particularly care what screenreader so and so uses. I use JAWS. It
works for me. And that's as far as I go with it. Ceasefire.

One thing I can't stand about this whole screenreader thing is doing the
change. I use JAWS at home, the uni to which I'm transferring uses WE, so
this holiday I've been busy reading the mannual and having to learn WE. Why
isn't there some quick document or something that makes moving from the one
to the other easier! The funny thing is that both companies say their
keystrokes are the most logical, like in Word, to hear the atributes of a
document, you do insert f, probably for format or font or something, and
then with WE you do ctrl shift s, probably for style or something? I really
could have had something better to do this holiday, crying!

[Audyssey] JAWS abuse revenge

2007-12-17 Thread Charles Rivard
If you continue to pick on JAWS and users of the program, a curse on you:
May you have to write code using 8.5 by 11 inch sheets of paper with
adhesive on the back, in braille, with a slate and stylus, while dealing
with arthritis! Now, how's that? for being ornery.
