Hi Lori.

As I remember, It's west to the wall, then follow the wall north until you 
run into several fights. BAsically the way navigation works in paladin of 
the sky is you need to find a wall and follow it.


With the dice, the dice aren't actually the attack you use most, mostly it's 
the dragon strikes which work like a rythm game, you'll find out about those 
after the introduction.
while the dice are needed in some bits of the game, the dragonstrikes are 
what you use most.

The trick is to find the spot where one or more of the tones aren't 
sounding, which woudl indicate that there's no wall right there in the 
direction corresponding to that particular absent tone, so one can follow 
a wall till its tone drop sout, indicating a passage.

footstep sounds there aren't any. I personally don't care fo this but there

No, you don't have to find all the treasures. You have to listen for the thing 
that's moving around, hold down enter, and hit the arrow key in the direction 
you want to hit it. You have to be one square away from

I was wondering how long does it normally take to get through Paladin 
of the sky?

I also wonder about the part of the game where you are trying to get to Burt.
Do you have to fight the guards on the second floor?
If so how many guards do you fight?

[Audyssey] Paladin of the Sky: Dragon Strike scroll latency

Hi all,
Initially when I started the game I was using my soundcards digital 
output. This seems to add a bit of latency before the sound reaches the 
player's ears. When I changed to to the analog output the dragon strike 
scrolls, especially in the stella fight, got much easier to handle. Might 
be worth a try for those who think there's something wrong with their 
reflexed. *smile*

[Audyssey] Paladin of the sky: am i through?

Hi,
Seems I've now completed this amazing game. I wonder though, if I did miss 
something, since after the fight in Hel on Earth I ended up in the cabin 
again.


**spoiler warning**

I have 3 trophies, I defeated the protector the second time and I defeated 
the Rinzina Demon. What fun there is to be had now seems to lie in having 
additional goes at Pierre, the Rinzina Demon or the Endurance Challenge.


Great game, a bit repetitive at times, but overall a very enjoyable 
experience.

Hi,
Since I have only completed the game with all 23 treasures, I don't know 
if I got the alternative ending or not, but I end I in a cabin after 
having passed through the beyond. Before I finished the main game I did 
the null terminal scene in the constructive ruins, so I know i have all 36 
of the galactic dusts. Can anyone point me in a direction of an unlocked 
area? Or am i Supposed to beat Pierre a second time? Or did I discover a 
bug?

Hi,
What Am I supposed to do once I beat Pierre? I had all treasures and 
galactic dusts when I did so. I got the ending with the beyond. Went 
through it, got the credits and ended up in the cabin.


Where am I supposed to go now? Since I have all the treasures , does that 
mean a new area should be unlocked somewhere?

is a separate benefit for getting all galactic dust, but I won't spoil
that if you haven't found that already.
Regardless of your treasure status, however, there is indeed a new
area to be explored. Explore wing 1, that is all I shall say.

I think there must be a bug with the dusts.I have a list of all of them and 
their locations. I check every area very thoroughly but even when Ihaven't 
missed any the counter always says I'm one or two short and I can't access 
what they unlock.

Hi Zack.

To be honest I didn't mind the tone. The script and story is a little rough 
in places, but came out well over all, or at least all of it I played (I 
need to play through the game again and finish properly sinse I gave up my 
last game as I  was away  for a while and forgot where I was).


What bothers me more is the fact that you don't get any description of the 
environment or the people around you, making it feel far more like reading a 
script of a console rpg than actually playing one, for example can you even 
say what gender most of the secondary characters are? And even if you know 
their gender through  their names, how old or  young are they?


Same goes for the monsters, sinse I never really felt the connection to 
being just told your fighting a fat murderer or your fighting a  scarlet 
thief without an idea of what those things or people are.


Still, I do think a Paladin   succeeded  more than it failed, especially 
considering that the developer admits himself he skimped somewhat on 
complexity, not having things like equipment or more battle options because 
he's still in the learning  phase, which is fare enough.


Ilook forward to seeing what the next game from vgstorm will be.

Hi Zack.

To be honest I didn't mind the tone. The script and story is a little rough
in places, but came out well over all, or at least all of it I played (I
need to play through the game again and finish properly sinse I gave up my
last game as I  was away  for a while and forgot where I was).

What bothers me more is the fact that you don't get any description of the
environment or the people around you, making it feel far more like reading a
script of a console rpg than actually playing one, for example can you even
say what gender most of the secondary characters are? And even if you know
their gender through  their names, how old or  young are they?

Same goes for the monsters, sinse I never really felt the connection to
being just told your fighting a fat murderer or your fighting a  scarlet
thief without an idea of what those things or people are.

Still, I do think a Paladin   succeeded  more than it failed, especially
considering that the developer admits himself he skimped somewhat on
complexity, not having things like equipment or more battle options because
he's still in the learning  phase, which is fare enough.

Ilook forward to seeing what the next game from vgstorm will be.

Beware the grue!

I'd not disagree with that, to say Paladin is the first game of it's type 
done in audio it is a dam good game, although for me some of the basic 
omitions such as descriptions and extra combat actions felt a little jarring 
given what was intended.


Still the music, the story and the idea of the characters, as well as the 
gaining experience certainly worked very well, I just sort of wish a few 
more fairly basic things like descriptions or more choices of what to do in 
battle had been included to flesh out the feeling.

I can agree with that. I also wouldn't have objected to having a way to keep 
track of all the galactic dusts, at least the ones you've already collected. 
I've never yet managed to collect them all despite knowing where they're all 
located. SOmehow I always seem to miss a couple.

[Audyssey] Paladin of the Sky: The First Dungeon

Hi All,

So I’m super late to the party on this game—I just now got around to reenabling 
my Windows VM. But I’m enjoying myself so far, mostly. I’m stuck on the first 
dungeon, however. I don’t think the navigation system is that bad, but maybe 
I’m just really confused or easily turned around. can anybody give a hint as to 
how I ought to proceed? Near as I can tell, my only option after taking the 
teleport is to go right, but afterwards there seem to be a lot of tiny 
passagees heading up and down. I found some healing potions at one point, but 
got so hopelessly lost that I quit in frustration and went back to my save 
point.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Zackery.

Lack of navigation in dungeons is sort of a thing in the game, and it has 
been suggested that the developer add either coordinates or a have I 
visited here before key to make the mazes a little less frustrating.


If I remember rightly the first dungeon in the casino you need to go up, 
then right and then right and down to eventually find yourself at the bottom 
right corner, but it's been a while sinse I played that dungeon.

Hi Dark,

Thanks. I figured it out eventually. I now have Kelly in my party, and am off 
to find whatever strange thing she saw in or on wing 1.

If there’s anything I find a little off-putting about the game it’s the tone, 
which is a bit too light-hearted for me. I don’t need grim dark all the time, I 
just prefer a bit more of a serious story. I don’t know how much of that I’ll 
get here.
I plan to keep playing though, and see how it goes.

Hi,

it does. It's just that your saved settings only are restored when you 
started the game, not in the main menu. No idea why, but it just works 
that way. So, select continue game and your settings should be the way 
you want them.

The secret is unfortunately practice, practice!

You have to be very precise with the timings for those spells and hit the 
alt key  almost simultaniously with the bleeps.

As cruelclaw said, you need to do all four towards, judgement, truth, fear 
and the fourth which I forget (I'm on truth at the moment myself).


Btw I didn't know  there was a bos in purgitory, I always thought it was 
just a general area for grinding sinse I've been round there but couldn't 
dinf anything  apart from lots of enemies, do you have an idea where the bos 
was on the stage?

at the end of that long area with the falling floorboards there are

passages in the wall going right. One of them (I believe it's towards the
bottom), leads to a flight of stairs that goes up to the next floor and

third floor and past te crusing floorboards but I can’t for te life of me 
figure out where to go next. I’ve been wandering aroud here for two days 
and can’t seem to locate either a stairway or a teleporter. So any help 
would be appreciated.

As cruelclaw said, you need to do all four towards, judgement, truth, fear
and the fourth which I forget (I'm on truth at the moment myself).

Btw I didn't know  there was a bos in purgitory, I always thought it was
just a general area for grinding sinse I've been round there but couldn't
dinf anything  apart from lots of enemies, do you have an idea where the bos
was on the stage?

If I remember correctly the door to the tower of truth is somewhere on the 
right hand side of God's palace.


This is again why I hope coordinates get added to the game in the next 
version sinse it'd make explaning where things are (as well as finding them 
in game), much easier.

[Audyssey] Paladin of the Sky a new audio rpg

Hi. 

Audiogames.net is currently down due to server issues, so I'm not sure how many 
people saw the news item I wrote on the front of site earlier this week. 
For anyone who didn't, and indeed for those who don't check the front of site, 
Paladin of the Sky is a new audio rpg by the same developer who created 
Adventure at C. 

it is a full scale, console style rpg game in the traddition of games like 
final fantasy, Xenogears or Grandia, it has a magitech world, a unique plot and 
a party with multiple characters who learn magic and experience. It is also a 
massively long game, easily 3 or 4 hours in the demo, and a good 30 hours or 
more in the full game, and that's not counting hard mode and various extras. 

The soundscape is a little lacking sinse the developer wants financial support 
to add sounds, also there are one or two rough edges with navigation, but 
hopefully these things will be sorted in the next version, and what there is 
already is a great plot, lots of space to explore, some unique bosses, and an 
interesting combat system, albeit one which I do feel probably needs some 
expantion. 

Either way the game is very awsome and I can tell is going to go down beside 
such games as Swamp, Entombed, Sound rts and Shades of doom as a major audio 
classic.

As I said, the demo contains three dungeons, lots of exploring and a good three 
hours of gameplay, maybe more if you level up your characters more, while the

[Audyssey] Paladin of the Sky: new audio RPG from VGStorm.com

Hi all,
A new audio game has recently been released. It’s called Paladin of the Sky, 
produced by www.vgstorm.com. It is an RPG in the style of many of the games 
from the 1990s and 2000s. The game has a very good story, a magic system which 
involves some rather strict timing, dungeons to explore, hidden things to find, 
and a quite excellent soundtrack.
Just to give you all an idea of how long this game is, I’m at 14 hours of 
playtime and I haven’t finished the game yet. The game is well worth its $30 
price tag in my opinion.
The game uses a new system of wall detection, where it plays a tone when you 
are near a wall, and what pitch the tone is tells you what wall you are near. 
This is nice in that you instantly know where openings are, and can easily 
follow complex areas.

It didn't take me long to decide. Surete game's got a few rought edges but 
it's the closest thing to a true audio RPG that we've seen. Even Entombed 
doesn't come quite so close as Paladin does to the sort of games I've been 
hoping to see in our little market.

Paladin of the Sky is an audio game in the style of popular console
roleplaying games.
The game contains over fifteen dungeons and twenty bosses. It features
hours of fun
maps to explore, as well as an in depth storyline.
Paladin of the Sky was designed with console Japonese roleplaying games from the
1980s, 1990s and early 2000s in mind. The game also takes a new look
on casting spells
in a turn based roleplaying setting.

Storyline:

The storyline of Paladin of the Sky takes place in a magical and
futuristic world.
For many years, the strongest lifeforms on earth, the humans and the
dragons, were
at odds. In 2037, the humans waged out right war on the dragons. The
war lasted for
six months, the humans gaining the upper hand with their superior technology. By
the end of the war, dragons were an extinct species.
In this universe, dragons could shape shift into human form.
Sometimes, in this form,
a human and dragon would fall in love and have dragon halfling
children. After the
war ended, the humans sought to find and kill all of the human dragon halflings.
The story follows the journey of Ross Myres to safety, in a rather
unusual way. Ross
bords a ship known as the Paladin, destined for the distant planet
known as Xopolis.
On this planet, the environs are too intense for the humans to handle,
however the
conditions are far from difficult for dragon human halflings.

Setting:

The game largely takes place on bored the Paladin space ship. The
space ship is enormous,
perhaps more so than even its crew know.

Features:

Over fifteen dungeons to explore.
Over twenty bosses to challenge you in various ways.
An in depth storyline.
A rich soundtrack with over one hundred and twenty tracks.
A unique system for navigation which puts the control in your hands
like never before.
Two difficulty settings, normal and hard.
A post game chapter of sorts which offers five more dungeons and seven
more intense bosses.

Demo Limitations:

Paladin of the Sky is shareware. The demo offers you the first three
dungeons and the first two bosses in the game.
You can not access the hard difficulty setting, nor can you obtain
promotional gifts from the server.

good game arron.
I was able to get the scroll attack off once, one thing I was told 
that I was in cabin 49 but one side of the deck had 1-12 and the 
other site had 24 down to 2 or something.
