Re: [Audyssey] Problem With NVDA amd Text Based Games
Hi Jacob, I don't know, but it is annoying to say the least. I'd have to dig through the NVDA source code to figure out how it acquires the text on the console and figure out why it treats every character separately when typed characters is on. I'll probably contat the NVDA dev team in the next couple of days and see if they can fix this bug. Cheers! Hi Shaun, Thanks. I have got it now. A couple of others have also provided the solution to the problem, and turning typed characters off does in deed work. Cheers! Re: [Audyssey] Problem With NVDA amd Text Based Games
Maybe they're making use of a form of character rendition trigger to catch typed characters - as in as a character gets rendered to the screen, it triggers a reading event, or something like that..? But, yes, might be simplest to ask NVDA dev team, or else, just use/remember the workaround, and, there are already also NVDA add-ins for things like winglulx and winfrotz, etc., but, anyway. tom hit nvda 2 to turn off the speaking of characters that are typed. turn it back on when finnished it will also do as you described with win7 defrag console mode and chkdsk and maybe other console programs.
