 It looks like it might be a windows 10 issue after all, but  I still can't
download the most recent version from Aprones site without the download
being interrupted  half way through. Are you able to create a tempary
dropbox link for swamp  so that way I can download it  and check it on both
my windows 10 machine and a windows 7 machine to confirm that it is a
windows 10 issue before I contact Aprone regarding the issue

Thanks for the help, that explains the issues I'm having running it,
although Sorry, what's a download manager I've always just used internet
explorer  for all my downloads. Is there a download manager you would
recommend that works well with screen readers or do you know of any other
links to swamp other than what is on Aprones site.

Just tried to play swamp for the first time since upgrading to windows 10
and swamp doesn't seem to work. I thought it might be as the version of
swamp I had was probably out of date so deleted it and downloaded the full
version from Aprones site. However it won't let me open or unzip the
downloaded game, I just keep getting.  Has anyone else played swamp using
windows 10? Also not sure if its related but I've tried downloading the game
from Aprones  site a few times  and each time the  download  stops about
half way through and I have to click resume  to continue the download , so
wondering if this might be why I can't then open the downloaded file once it
has finally finished downloading.

Any help much appreciated.

try installing jim kitchen's games that will give you the vb6 files you 
need to also run swamp and also there are two bat files in the swamp 
folder try running the 32bit one for a 32bit system or the 64bit bat 
file for a 64bit machine.

Thanks for the download John,  it downloaded  fine and although it let me
open the  file (which it wouldn't yesterday with the version I'd downloaded
from Aprones site) it won't let me start Swamp, so  it could be a windows 10
issue  as I just keep getting the below message when I try to run swamp

Did you run checkup.exe, like the readme says to do when encountering such 
errors?  If that doesn't work, try deleting your progress.ini file.

HI, YES, I CAN NOW CONFIRM THAT SWAMP ISN'T RUNNING FOR ME IN WINDOWS 10
EITHER. IT'S THROWING THE FOLLOWING ERROR.
Run-time error '52':

Bad file name or number

I AM AS YET UNSURE IF THIS IS DUE TO A MISSING FILE IN WINDOWS 10, OR
SOMETHING ISN'T INSTALLED FOR IT TO USE, OR SOMETHING ELSE. BUT I CAN
DEFINITELY CONFIRM IT'S NOT RUNNING.

That will teach me for not reading the read me file. Just ran the check up file 
 and now the game works all fine.  Thanks for the help with this

Hi Josh,

Have you got swamp running on windows 10 or know someone who has? I Tried
installing Jim kitchens games , and ran the  64bit batch file from swamp,
but it still doesn't seem to work I get the below nessage

Swamp
Component 'MSCOMM32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not graphic 475
correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid


Any suggestions  anyone?

Thanks John, I have to confess I never  tried looking at the read me file,
think because  I've been playing swamp for ages  and although I read it the
first time I played I never thought of looking there to solve the issue.
Lesson learnt in future  always check  the obvious places for the info first
hahaha. Although I wasn't able to download it without your dropbox link, so
thanks again for that, now time to  finally get down to a bit of zombie
killing !

[Audyssey] has anyone tried swamp on windows 10

Hi,

 

Just tried to play swamp for the first time since upgrading to windows 10
and swamp doesn't seem to work. I thought it might be as the version of
swamp I had was probably out of date so deleted it and downloaded the full
version from Aprones site. However it won't let me open or unzip the
downloaded game, I just keep getting.  Has anyone else played swamp using
windows 10? Also not sure if its related but I've tried downloading the game
from Aprones  site a few times  and each time the  download  stops about
half way through and I have to click resume  to continue the download , so
wondering if this might be why I can't then open the downloaded file once it
has finally finished downloading.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks for the help, that explains the issues I'm having running it,
although Sorry, what's a download manager I've always just used internet
explorer  for all my downloads. Is there a download manager you would
recommend that works well with screen readers or do you know of any other
links to swamp other than what is on Aprones site.

HI, YES, I CAN NOW CONFIRM THAT SWAMP ISN'T RUNNING FOR ME IN WINDOWS 10
EITHER. IT'S THROWING THE FOLLOWING ERROR.
Run-time error '52':

Bad file name or number

I AM AS YET UNSURE IF THIS IS DUE TO A MISSING FILE IN WINDOWS 10, OR
SOMETHING ISN'T INSTALLED FOR IT TO USE, OR SOMETHING ELSE. BUT I CAN
DEFINITELY CONFIRM IT'S NOT RUNNING.
