You might have had more luck sending it via an attachment.
As a general rule of thumb, most text editors (including mail clients) will

I feel pretty confident your AVG scan won't find anything because when
I scanned that message it came up clean but then again MSE isn't the
world's best virus scanner either. All the same in hindsight I wish I
had just rejected that post for being over the message limit rather

Re: [Audyssey] jim's nfl football - Josh K

2015-08-10 Thread john
Nods, I suspect my computer would've eventually managed to display the file,
but I didn't feel like waiting forever or destabilizing my OS just to see
it.
The reason I pointed out a difference in the email name is that it may have
been coming from a different email address, potentially a compromised email
or from some other source attempting to impersonate Josh.

Hello John,
New buy here, by the way, it certainly sent the braille sense into hell. I
had to reset. After 3 crashes, I just deleted the 1.1 mb EML file. Glad it
was the file, not the sense, though.
PS. Thought Josh K's last name was Kenedy?

 Hi list,
I just received an email from Josh Kennedy (not Josh k - this may be
important), with a listed size of about 1100 kb, and subject something to
do with jim's nfl football (I deleted the message, and don't have the
 exact line anymore).
 As soon as I tried to read the message my mail client went ballistic;
fully loading up my processor and sending memory usage through the roof
(fellow nerds that's 400mb). I'm not sure if this was just the world's
largest game log file, or if it was something more sinister, but I'd
advise anybody who got the message to avoid opening it.

I'm hoping that this really was just a bad decision to send an ungodly
large log through email and not some kind of virus on list, but given the
way my machine reacted I figured it'd probably be best to post an alert
about it just in case (if you do open the message, killing my mail client
seems to have fixed the issue).
I'd also note that I'm not trying to accuse anybody here - rather to offer
a note of caution and a request that we try not to post logs t're larger
than a bunch of novels put together.

You might have had more luck sending it via an attachment.
As a general rule of thumb, most text editors (including mail clients) will

Hi Dark,

I feel pretty confident your AVG scan won't find anything because when
I scanned that message it came up clean but then again MSE isn't the
world's best virus scanner either. All the same in hindsight I wish I
had just rejected that post for being over the message limit rather
than passing it through the system seeing as how many people had
problems with it. I do believe in the future I shall just reject any
more messages like it since that log file was unbelievably huge.

Cheers!
