Re: [Audyssey] monte problem

2007-07-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Michael,
Yes, you missed a few things, and you wont' find them unless you use a
torch in some rooms to reveal some of the hidden treasures. Some rooms
are completely dark, and to do it in audio I turned off the audio for
hidden effects. When you carry a lit torch into that room the treasures
will start making sounds so you can find them or see them.
This is a modification of the original game where items were blacked out
until you used a torch to make them appear.

see anything else. I am going to try normal next and then hard. What a
 awesome game thus far.

I just finished normal level with a score of 30,250.

I understand you have to use a torch. Does the torch automatically turn on
when in a dark room right? That is what I read out of the manual. So if I
get killed, that would mean that I have send a torch elsewhere and when I
move further into the game I don't have it available to explore the other
dark rooms. Would that be a safe assumption?

Hi Michael,
That is correct. Torches will be used when they are needed. If you die
and you used one of your torches and you reenter the room you were last
exploring another torch will be used. However, that will limit you to
explore other darkened rooms. It's tricky, but all apart of the
challenge of the game.

Hello thom
First of all I would like to give you a big golden complement too big to

Your game is absolutely out of this world. Its terrific! Its rocking!
I just notice that sometimes I'm killed instantly when a skull or snake
attacks me. Isn't the snakes and sculls suppose to only reduce my health?

2007-07-07 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Nicol,
Depends on the level of your health when getting attacked. By the way,
if you jump on a monster, directly on it, you will be killed instantly.
Same happens if you jump into or on a trap.
As for the game being out of this world I can't take all the credit.
Whoever invented it back in the 1980's was the brains behind the
original Atari game which I have attempted to recreate using my own
programming skills. I merely recreated the game in an audio based format
so us audio gamers can take a crack at it. (Smile)
Anyway, I am happy you like it.

No that was on the easy level. Charles and Thomas both scored a lot higher
then I did. I love the game and hate losing my life because then you have to
start at the beginning of level 1 or level 2 depending on when you get
killed.

Hi Michael,
What difficulty are you playing. The only way to get 85550 is to play on
difficult. Or did you mean to say 8550 which is more like easy level.
If it is the difficult level you are approaching my highest score for
the game which was 88600 on difficult.

Hi Bryan,
It is possible to get 85000 points and more if you are playing on the
highest difficulty level.
According to my high scores file it says my highest score for difficult
was 88600, and I wasn't playing for points, but just trying to live
through the game levels which are really hard on that level.
I can't wait to get the score board feature in this game as monty is one
of those games you play for points as much as play for entertainment.
Especially, when the bonus rounds go in,and everything is doubled on
bonus, and if you beat it you gain extra lives, and so on.
