Re: [Audyssey] Montezuma's beta1 bugs

2007-09-10 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
Before I actually respond to the text of your email I'd just like to
make a reminder here that beta 2 has had many many changes and bug fixes
made already. Beta 2 is in private testing, and I am working on
preparing the beta 2 release.
As far as jumping goes I'll just state that the jump code as been
totally rewritten in beta 2. It no longer operates the way it did in
beta 1. It is also totally unnecessary to run and jump at the same time.
Jumping over monsters is simply a matter of hand ear coordination. When
it is very close to your left or right ear jump. Using headphones is
ideal for this kind of game.
Now, if you don't fall off a platform or ledge that is a bug, and one I
can easily fix today in beta 2.
As for using a potion at 100% health and exiting I have not been able to
repete that bug try as I might. Still I can look into it, but sounds
like a quark that popped up on your system. I can't see anything wrong
here, nor can I duplicate the problem.
Now, as to the missing key all keys are in the game, but some are
hidden. You need to find it. There is an item you need to have in your
hand when you enter the room with the hidden white key in order to find
it. This is true to the original Monty game, and so you need to do some
puzzle solving here to locate that missing key.
I know everything works and all keys are in the game because I have
played Monty from level 1 through the bonus round, and no issues of
missing keys. Though, I know where to find all of them.

 Hi tom and all.
Well finally mannaged to semi beat monti.
This may be a spoiler but I found if you run you can get accross
things and passed enemies as long as you keep ahead of them.
Like in superliam, once a snake is in the centre of the speakers you
can run jump over it, note this is not run or jump you have to run
and jump at the same time.
the same is true for pits with no platforms, etc.
 and ropes.
Warning though that if you walk to the edge of a platform and or
something, well not platform but a ledge and try to walk you will not
fall off if you run you will.
 Here are the bugs.
when at 100 of health using a healing posion will cause the game to
 just exit to the desktop.
Also I got through a red door, and over a portal.
through a couple white doors and found I was at another white door
with no key although I had got and used all the keys I had.
So either I am doing something wrong or I think there are keys I need
to get or get put in the game.
Really was not sure about monti but now I know how to get passed at
least the hardest part of trying to walk over things I think I will
 probably get it.

Re: [Audyssey] Montezuma's beta1 bugs

2007-09-10 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Damien,
yes, the public beta only has the first two levels. That is why it is
only a demo version. The full version has a bonus round, and other
levels are being developed as we speak.
I'm looking at possably putting beta 2 on a timer like Tank Commander
and Sarah where you can only play for a certain amount of time before
the game expires and you have to start from level 1 again. That way the
work can continue on the game, people can play it, but they will never
complete the game or go beyond level 2.
