Re: [Audyssey] New horror and adventure sidescroller, The gate!
Actually, a quick line or two on what os a game runs on would be appreciated too. I realize most things are written for windows only, and I just assume windows when I see a post, and then promptly delete the post, since I don't have any windows computers, but occasionally, this has lead me to miss games, because they did run on other platforms, and the original poster didn't say so, and as a result, lost a potential sale, lowering even further the numbers of alternate os sales. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Again, it took me less than 2 minutes to find the page and begin the install. It wasn't that time-consuming at all. And again, I suspect that the developer figured that as his games have been played in the past, people are familiar with his site and his links. I get that there are definitely times when more description or added links are needed, but in the case of a well-known developer, one which we've all seen before, it doesn't seem worth getting displeased about. I am currently in the process of developing a game myself, so from the development point of view, the 2 minutes it takes you to find it and downloaded can't hold a candle to the hours upon hours upon hours spent coding and debugging it. Re: [Audyssey] New horror and adventure sidescroller, The gate!
Actually, there is a point in what you replied to. Why should people have to go and look for a game when a link in the original post would cure the problem? While I agree with some of what you say, I have seen posts that were so abbreviated, all the do is to confuse. Others list a game that is available without saying anything about the game, not even where to get it. An example would be like what I put below. And, before anyone asks, this is a fictitious title: A new game is out. Anglers Paradise. Check it out in the app store. --- Be positive! Introduction In a time when people were being killed for parcels of land, decorations, titles, wealth, honor and power, a small village was suffering from something much more mysterious. Many people were dying, mostly through strange bouts or sequences of illness, sometimes even from unknown causes. In the end, with no possible alternative explanation, it was officially declared a plague. For Patrick, a simple trip to the Physician's house to try and save his dying mother goes horribly wrong when he is knocked from his horse by an unknown entity, and awakes to find himself imprisoned in a hellish dungeon. You must guide him to safety so that he can return home safely and report his findings. Features Ten levels with over 30 enemies and 5 bosses, providing hours of gameplay. High quality sound effects and adaptive music. Fully voiced by professional actors. Plenty of in-game help. Five difficulties and two modes of gameplay. Demo limitations The demo allows you to complete the three shortest levels in the game, as well as battle the first boss. Save files from the demo are 100 percent compatible with the registered copy, so you can resume right where you left off after purchasing. Pricing The game normally costs 34.95 US dollars to purchase. However, from release to the end of November, you can pick up the game for 29.95 US Dollars. Re: [Audyssey] New horror and adventure sidescroller, The gate!
I guess that the poster figured that if you've played VGStorm's games in the past, you would know the link to their site. The link to the main site is: http://www.vgstorm.com/ >From there, you simply click the "games," link, then the link of the game you want, and then the download link. It took me all of less than 2 minutes to begin downloading the game after seeing the post. The impatience of society nowadays baffles my mind. A task as easy as downloading a game, something that takes less than 120 seconds, should not displease you. But just because I am a nice guy, I pulled the source HTML to get the direct download link for the game for you. It is: http://www.vgstorm.com/the_gate_installer.exe Be pleased.
