Sure, that's fine and is what I did anyway. I.e. I checked my code into trunk first and merged the changes from trunk to both stable branches (3.1.x and 3.0.x). I added the following sentence to http://ganglia.wiki.sourceforge.net/ganglia_works: Minor non-code changes do not need to be backported, they can simply be checked into the repository directly. These include minor typo fixes, minor rewording for error messages, documentations, etc. wrong. all changes had to be backported, otherwise trunk and the other branches will diverge and become effective forks, breaking all other backporting as designed. the only exception that should be allowed is for voting if it is to be considered as valid of any exception. Since this does not touch any actual code (just comments), can I get a free pass and not have to go through a backport proposal? +1 Perhaps we can outline some minor fixes that do not require to go through this peer review process and document this list in the Wiki? I'd suggest that minor typo changes, minor rewording to things like error messages, and any documentation are fair game for this. -- Jesse Becker GPG Fingerprint -- BD00 7AA4 4483 AFCC 82D0 2720 0083 0931 9A2B 06A2 - This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Ganglia-developers mailing list Ganglia-developers@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ganglia-developers
