Re: [gatortalk] Grier gone

2015-12-19 Thread g8r73
He doesn't want to be a Gator???  Then so be it and good riddance...probably
knows he doesn't have a chance in hell of being the starter after the first 6
games next year!!  Regardless, Pat Dooley said on Finebaum last Wednesday when
it was first leaked he might transfer, if he transfers to another FBS school he
has a year to sit out and then he STILL has to sit out 6 games into a regular
season!!!  That NCAA penalty will follow him wherever he goes!!!  Buhbye

Now.. do i full agree with the NCAA on this? But the rules is the rules. I
dont think he did it intentionally.. there are also reports that it was
something he was taking to get over the flu bug he had.. so who knows.. we

If it was something like cough syrup the the NCAA is truly being

2015-10-13 Thread Sandy Alonso
It wasn't anything for the flu (besides, there's nothing over-the-counter
for the stomach flu - which is what they had - other than Emetrol,
Kaopectate, Pepto-Bismol, etc. and none of those things have
performance-enhancing drug). If it was something that purely innocent, he
wouldn't be up there crying mea culpa. If it were some false-positive from
a flu medication, and not an ingredient (known or unknown by Grier) in a
supplement, protein powder, etc., they would be angrily proclaiming his
innocence.

He probably got some crap from GNC or some other similar store. Whether he
truly knew or not...hard to say. But I agree he SHOULD know better than to
take any kind of supplement without clearing it through UF medical or
nutrition.

No, but I don’t think he has to know, just take it.

He knew he could ask UF medical staff to be safe, chose not to, and admitted to
that.

Willful blindness is not a good defense.

Re: [gatortalk] Grier

2015-10-13 Thread Woody
Ok let me rephrase.. he knowingly took something without checking with the
medical staff knowing he should have done so because that kind of
compliance stuff is shoved down their throat repeatedly.

Now.. do i full agree with the NCAA on this? But the rules is the rules.
I dont think he did it intentionally.. there are also reports that it was
something he was taking to get over the flu bug he had.. so who knows.. we
KNOW it was NOT Ligandrol though.

If it was something like cough syrup the the NCAA is truly
being ridiculous about this.

That was a bold call on the Ole Miss game, Oliver, and I apologize for

under 50 yards, Treon plays the game of his life, and the Gators win by 20. Go

2015-10-13 Thread Rob Alexander
Yeah, that's where we are alright. I think Woody's right about the appeal, so
from a fan's perspective it's just as if Grier were out for the season with an
injury. The team needs to move on and so do the fans. Let's hope Will grows up,
learns from this very hard lesson, and can still be part of the team next year
(though I don't see him likely to regain the starting role half way through
next season).

Harris is very talented QB and is a real gamer. This is a particularly bad week
to have to change quarterbacks, but I figure if our defense can contain
Fournette, then we can win this game. If not, then it wasn't going to matter
which QB played. This one game aside, I don't see why we can't go ahead and
have a successful season... at least, as long as Harris behaves. Hopefully, he
will have learned his lesson and will lay off the weed for the rest of the
season, or we'll be saying 'the only thing left is to root for Josh.'

That was a bold call on the Ole Miss game, Oliver, and I apologize for
chuckling when I read it. I'm sticking with you this week. Fournette rushes for
under 50 yards, Treon plays the game of his life, and the Gators win by 20. Go
Gators!!!

He probably got some crap from GNC or some other similar store. Whether he

It wasn't anything for the flu (besides, there's nothing over-the-counter for
the stomach flu - which is what they had - other than Emetrol, Kaopectate,
Pepto-Bismol, etc. and none of those things have performance-enhancing drug).
If it was something that purely innocent, he wouldn't be up there crying mea
culpa. If it were some false-positive from a flu medication, and not an
ingredient (known or unknown by Grier) in a supplement, protein powder, etc.,
they would be angrily proclaiming his innocence.

He probably got some crap from GNC or some other similar store. Whether he
truly knew or not...hard to say. But I agree he SHOULD know better than to
take any kind of supplement without clearing it through UF medical or nutrition.
