g_b Need your help
Dear All, Am Naveen, Age 28 from Bangalore. I need your help in convincing my parents about my marriage. Its since 2 years my parents started forcing me to get married. They had no clue about my Gay sexuality until I came out to them. As expected they were shocked when I told them about this, one and half years ago. Their reaction was This can't happen, Its unnatural, you are with wrong friends... hundreds of inquiry about how I became Gay. Finally they took me to a psychiatrist and even I thought it would be helpful for me to make them understand if a doctor speaks about it. To my fate the doctor terns out to be dumb about knowledge of sexuality and started advising me that you became Gay bcoz you didn't had sex with any girl. I started arguing with him but couldn't as my parents started shouting at me saying you don't advise doctor just listen what he says. Now it has crossed limits and they think I have been polluted by wrong thoughts and they are not even in a stage to believe internet documents. They are not ready to listen any thing they just want me to get married. Guys please help me...How will i be able to make them understand about this. Regards Naveen
g_b Friendship Club Scams
The need for companionship is so high that people, who ought to have better sense, fall prey to these Friendship Club scams. Call us! With Mumbaikars becoming lonelier by the day, these words can be seen plastered everywhere in the city -- from inside Mumbai Locals and outside BEST buses to newspapers ads and city walls. Last week, Unit 11 of the Mumbai crime branch busted a 'friendship club' which duped several people, including some police officers and former BMC commissioner K Nalinakshan, by offering them a hope for some intimacy. Interrogation of the two men spearheading the scam has revealed that the friendship club, which promised new 'friendships' and duped its customers of lakhs of rupees, was a part of a large network of cons carrying out a multi-crore scam. Based on details obtained from Sanjay Sharma and Ninad Murudkar, the crime branch has traced at least 60 similar friendship clubs, which are offering cure to loneliness in exchange of your crucial bank details. Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik had asked the crime branch to crack down on these friendships clubs. MASTERMIND Sanjay Sharma, who was a small-time model and aspiring actor, had moved to the city from Delhi a few years ago with his wife and two kids. He was a frequent at several Page 3-type parties. It was then he hit upon the idea of starting a friendship clubs. He befriended Murudkar, who was also a computer expert. Both started a Share Trading Company at a Mall in Oshiwara as a front for soliciting customers to join their friendship club. Each individual was asked to pay a membership fee between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 based on the service required. The benefits promised were much more than an average social-networking site. The member were given contact numbers of 'friends', with a gender and orientation of their liking. And there were other perks, like the stash of porn videos and nude pictures of struggling models on their website, made freely available to all members. THE SCAM The so-called friends would chat with the victims and ask them personal questions to assess their financial status. The conversations will become increasingly intimate and personal (and also increasingly expensive). Soon personal details were exchanged, and then the calls would abruptly stop. The victims' pocket lighter by lakhs of rupees. The business was so smooth that at least Rs 5 lakh was being deposited every month at each of the 15 accounts seized by the police. The cops said that the amount can go radically up after raids on the other friendship clubs. The Kandivali police has

g_b QA Performing Visual Arts goes for Sufiana Compositions by Wadali Brothers
QA Performing Visual Arts goes to: Sama`a: The Mystic Ecstasy Festival of Sufi Music | 2011 Based on the mystical branch of Islam, Sufi music seeks to unite listeners with the Divine. The pain of separation from the Creator is at the core of Sufi lyrics and music; and hence the longing to dissolve the physical realm and transcend into the spiritual Universe with Sama'a, the practice of listening to music, chanting and whirling, finally culminating in spiritual ecstasy. Sufi music is practised in different regions of the world through myriad genres. We will be going for Sufiana compositions by Wadali Brothers and group: Puran Chand and Piyare Lal Wadali, popularly known as Wadali Brothers, represent the fifth generation of musicians devoted to singing messages of Sufi saints. As ardent practitioners of Sufi tradition, their repertoire includes poetry of Amir Khusrau, Baba Farid Sahib, Bulleh Shah and folklore associated with the region of Sindh-Punjab such as Laila-Majnu and Heer-Ranjha. The duo specialises in genres such as gurbani, heer, kaafi, ghazal and bhajan and has numerous albums to their credit. With their vibrant and full-throated voice, mixed with rustic Punjabi expressions peppered with the idiom of classical music, Wadali Brothers have created a niche in the Sufi music world today. They have also made forays into Bollywood with soulful songs; Darda Marya, Hey Rangrez Mere and many others. Hey guys, Many of you agreed with me when I had said that Laxmi has done us proud, by representing herself with poise and dignity. She has now been nominated, and it would be awesome if we could vote to save her! Irrespective of whether you watch the show or not, I think we'd do well to create an acceptable celebrity with mass appeal, and that would happen if she stays on longer. I have nothing to do with her personally, just have grown fond of her and her ways on the show, and would love for her to have an opportunity to make it longer. She has been the strongest LGBT contestant so far, and has an opportunity to garner even more positive public visibility. To save Laxmi, please send LAX to 56882 Thank you! VK
g_b Has anal sex gone out of vogue...
https://hivmsmblog.wordpress.com/2011/11/06/has-anal-sex-gone-out-of-vogue-what-does-this-mean-for-hiv-prevention/ Has anal sex gone out of vogue? What does this mean for HIV prevention? So the Advocatehttp://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2011/10/19/Study_Only_37_of_Gay_Men_Recently_Engaged_in_Anal_Sex/ recently reported the findings of a large-scale survey on sexual behaviors. Apparently, only 37.2% of over 24,000 gay and bisexually identified men indicated that their last sexual encounter consisted of anal sex. The most practiced activities were kissing (almost 75%) and mutual masturbation (73%). *Note*: Since posting this article I was able to look at the full text of the study, which does ask participants questions about condom use at last encounter. Roughly about 33% of respondents state that they used a condom at some point during their last sexual encounter, with almost half of those that have had intercourse stating a condom was used. However, the article does not go onto the provide more specific analysis on condom use, since it is difficult to extrapolate generalities regarding condom use, based on information about singular encounters. The survey, entitled ‘The Gay and Bisexual Men’s National Sex Survey’ was sponsored byManhunt http://www.manhunt.net/, its sexual health affiliate Manhunt Cares (see my past post here about them)http://hivmsmblog.wordpress.com/2011/06/26/manhunt-cares/ and its research partners, present the findings in a cutesy interactive graphical form which can be accessed from clicking on the picture on the left (i.e. I found out that 80.8 % of surveyed men have eaten cum at some point in their lives!) The abstract of the study, which appears in the Journal of Sexual Medicine can be found here.http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10./j.1743-6109.2011.02438.x/abstract Now before we give up our lube and condoms and other devices we find makes our anal sex experience more comfortable, there a few things to keep in mind. For some reason, the majority of respondents in this latest conducted by researchers from Indiana University and George Mason University were Caucasian males. Perhaps results would be changed if there was some diversity in the subject pool. Also, one should note that the respondents were “self identified” gay or bisexual. Perhaps if behaviors of non-identified men who have sex with men, (i.e. heterosexual identifying men) were recorded the results would also show a higher indication of anal sex. However, I like the point that one of the commentators made: Anal sex does require a lot of effort (much like vaginal penile sex as well) and perhaps people don’t want to go through such effort simply to get off. First, usually the receptive bottom has to be sure that they have maintained proper ass hygiene – for some folks this means just a thorough cleaning in the shower, however for others this means anal douching (see my past insightful entry on this issue)http://hivmsmblog.wordpress.com/2010/08/11/to-douche-or-not-to-douche/. Then, both inserter and receptive partner both need to be properly lubricated. Any condom needs to be applied, towels need to be made readily available to absorb the lube and any other pre and post-fucking products, and finally one may fuck. For some individuals this ceremonial ritual just may not be worth it. I am not one of these people, but I can see the non appeal. Additionally this survey stated that 40% of men surveyed said that their sexual encounter was with someone who they were in some way committed to. For many couples anal sex is a special sex act, that does not have to be performed during every sexual encounter. In my opinion, I seem to see anal sex as the final act in the play of random hooking up (especially bar sex) but I personally tend to think couples in a relationship have generally been with each other so long they have other ways of turning each other on and understand that anal sex is not a necessity. I don’t think this study can necessarily tell us too much about HIV prevention strategies, or where they should be aimed. As some may know, receptive anal intercourse without a condom is the most risky sexual activity one can perform in terms of HIV acquisition. And although we know that only 40% of these Caucasian gay identified men admit to having anal sex, we don’t know anything about condom use (I couldn’t find anything about condom use at last anal sex in any of these graphics). So, it can be assumed that a portion of those having anal sex (or oral sex) are having unprotected sex. Additionally, we can assume that many of these surveyed men did either not know their own or their partners HIV status (which is likely given that 60% of the sex acts were recorded to be with people whom the respondent was not intimately partnered with.) So this our crusade most likely should continue. Even if anal sex is supposedly not the most common sex act, it is the most risky, and deserved to still
g_b from The Guardian - Are all male fashion designers gay?
An excellently robust answer to a truly tiresome question: from Ask Hadley by Hadley Freeman Why are all male fashion designers gay? David, by email I'm sorry, I think you have your Guardian columns mixed up. All enquiries expressing concern that a family member might be gay should be addressed to Pamela Stephenson- Connolly, Sexual Healing, c/o this parish, etc etc. Oh, no wait a minute sorry, I read your email too quickly. You didn't ask whether your father is gay (because you caught him masturbating over a gay porn magazine, as one Sexual Healing inquiry had it), but why all male fashion designers are gay. Oh, for God's sake. I'm always amazed at the popularity of this ridiculous canard. Honestly, am I the only one who eagerly snaffles down articles with headlines such as Ralph and Ricky Lauren show us around their glamorous ranch! or Tommy and Dee Hilfiger invite us to their fabulous beach hideaway? With perhaps the exception of A day in the life of a supermodel, there is no genre of fashion article I love more than one in which a fashion designer shows off his lovely home, one he often shares with someone else, and, as often as not, that other person is someone of the opposite gender. Just off the top of my head, aside from Lauren and Hilfiger, Paul Smith, Rick Owens, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Lacroix and Yohji Yamamoto are all male fashion designers who do more for the ladies than design clothes for them (sorry that looks a lot creepier written down than it sounded in my head). All male fashion designers, all straight. But of course, fashion detractors with homophobic tendencies don't like these obvious examples because they don't corroborate their pet theory that fashion is a medium through which evil gay men humiliate women because they are jealous of their femaleness. I have heard this ridiculous theory proposed by an amazing number of people over the years, by many seemingly otherwise intelligent beings with heretofore very hidden bigoted tendencies, and it's one that never fails to fascinate me. Let's not even bother with the patently hilarious ideas that gay men want to be women (without wishing to resort to sweeping generalisations myself, the gay men in my acquaintance generally look like they're having a lot more fun than the women), or that women are so stupid they not only don't know when they're being humiliated but that they pay money to be so. And then let's resist making the deeply obvious points that there are plenty of female fashion designers who make clothes that are just as uncomfortable as anything churned out by a gay male fashion designer; or that the people who are truly in charge of the fashion world, ie major magazine editors and the head of fashion conglomerates such as PPR and LVMH, are all either women or straight men. Like I said, I'll leave all that to the side. What I won't leave, though, is wondering why fashion and fashion designers are being singled out here. Heck, there are loads of industries that are predicated on humiliating women! How about oh, let's say romantic comedies starring Katherine Heigl. Are they all masterminded by evil gay men? Or whoever invented Brazilian waxes? But because the gay men are more visible in fashion than they are in any of the above, they and the industry they work for become an easy target for homophobia. Obviously, I am not saying that you are homophobic, David. But I am saying that you have been gulled by a generalisation that comes from a deeply homophobic place about all men in fashion being evil queens who are intent on causing pain to anyone lucky enough to have been born with a uterus, out of a twisted sense of vengeance. Yes, there are a lot of prominent and out gay men in the fashion world shouldn't that be something to applaud the fashion world for? Well, not if you're a homophobe, of course.

g_b gays just want good looking guys (mostly)
Hi AllI do want to discuss an issue with all of you being members of this group though i think it is not appropriate to discuss personal issues in groups but as i think we all have a common agenda it may be appropriate to discuss it and may be get some suggestions from some of you. And may be decisively this may be my last communication on any gay forum. I am 23 years old guy i am an average looking guy with 5/6 height with 55kgs weight and very average features. I am an IT profession Student , also belong to very reputed spiritual based organization where once cannot afford to come out openly as a gay. Otherwise i am gentle very loving however a little different from the mainstream rat race and career occupy a reasonable place in my life but they are not the be all and end all of everything.I generally have interest in Spiritual related activities but it does not mean i have no interest in other things ..i am very cool in everythingMy problem or what i have faced is with all my sensitivity sincerity and loving nature i have not able to find a life partner forget a life time partner not even someone who is ready to stay back for at least some years. And the reason that i could find out was that it was my looks. I am not saying that people should not go by looks everybody is attracted to good looking people, but then how much ever people may say in the gay world i think there is no hope for people like me to find a life partner. I am not ugly i am just plane average looking guy(what i consider myself to be) and i am not expecting a 20 years guy to look my way but even the people of my age seem so obsessed with looks. In normal heterosexual relationship we so often find very good looking guys having love marriage with very average looking girls or vice versa but in the gay world i think it never happens . Some of you may say that the problem lies with me i have not looked for people who looked beyond looks but my dear friends i want to tell you that i have ultimately found that in a gay relationship looks are the most important thing. With all my efforts now i am tired and i have only two options one to become active sexually like so many gays and make my self empty emotionally or to just forget everything in this life about having a gay life partner and live a lonely life which i seem destined to live. I do not know what to do because i think it is high time i decide one or the other way.I think this is my last ever letter on any gay forum but then i do feel that if ever God makes someone gay he should not give him average looks looks Tarun Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel Email: modera...@gaybombay.in E Groups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gay_bombay http://groups.google.com/group/Gaybombay http://groups.google.com/group/GayIndia Public archives at http://www.mail-archive.com/gay_bombay%40yahoogroups.com/maillist.html Rss feed: http://www.mail-archive.com/gay_bombay@yahoogroups.com/maillist.xml GB Internet Radio at http://www.gaybombay.in/gbradio Web Sites: www.gaybombay.in www.gayindia.org Orkut: http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Profile?uid=15084918632470824129 Blogs: http://gaybombay.blogspot.com http://gaybombay.wordpress.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/gaybombay http://twitter.com/gayindia Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/gaybombay http://www.facebook.com/gayindia Yahoo! g_b S.377 case may be heard in February 2012
The appeal against the Delhi High Court verdict in the Naz India came up for hearing in the Supreme Court today but, as expected, since it was one of the last items listed for the day, the judges were not able to take it up. What is significant though is that they said they would hear it in February and have allotted two weeks for the hearing. That means about six working days which would be what's needed to hear all the petitioners against us and those supporting us. So it does look like Feb 2012 will be the date for the hearings, with the verdict coming sometime later.
g_b Hotels That Only Accept Homosexuals Are Being Investigated
Hotels That Only Accept Homosexuals Are Being Investigated Jonathan Wynne-Jones wrote this article for The Telegraph. Hotels that only accept homosexuals are being investigated by a government-funded watchdog for discriminating against heterosexual couples. The Equality and Human Rights Commission is examining whether “gay-only” guesthouses breach new laws designed to prevent people being treated unfairly in the provision of goods or services. Last month, Christian owners of a guesthouse in Cornwall became the first to be found guilty of discrimination under equality laws after they refused to let a homosexual couple stay in a double room, in a legal action supported by the EHRC. Now, the watchdog says it must establish an “objective balance” by considering if gays-only accommodation also defies the legislation.
