hi guys

we have 4000+ members who have bouncing email addresses. and nearly 4500+ 
members who have clean email boxes i.e mails sent to them do not bounce

that makes this list a sum total  of 8500+ members!! not bad!!

unfortunately,  of the 8500 odd subscribers, just about 4500+ members have 
emails boxes that do not bounce emails!! in other words, you keep your email 
box clean and delete unwated old mails rather than piling old mails.

for those who do not get mails or are unable to post mails, the simple solution 
is to keep your email box clean and delete unwanted mails. though with 
yahoomail, rediffmail and google mail(gmail) giving 1 gb of space, things 
started easing.

yet, i keep getting mails in private  from subscribers saying that they are not 
receiving mails and asking for help

often, many of us forget to clean our email boxes and the end result is that 
mails sent by  to that particular address starts getting rejected.

to set matters rights you have to log on to your yahoogroups page at 
http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups

if the mails are bouncing and if you are not getting your emails regularly, you 
will most probaly notice a message on the top saying-Alert! You have 1 bouncing 
email addresses ETC. 
 
click on that link and follow the instructions and it will tell you how to 
unbounce  your email address

the simplest thing to do is to just delete emails that are of no use to you. 
each email box has just about 4-5 mb of storage space and once you exceed that 
space, emails  sent to your inbox will start bouncing

so if you have not cleaned your mail box recently, do it NOW. and yes, clean it 
up 1-2 a week to be on the safe side

also if you want to change the way in which you want to receive your mails here 
are some commands to help you

Digest Mode: send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
No Mail Mode:-  send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Individual Mail Mode:-  send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Tired of too many emails from this group?  

Hi All

I know that this group has been generating too many emails. Many 
subscribers are flustered at the number of mails. Some of you might 
be thinking of leaving the group because you do not like your mail 
box to be clogged with mails.

But just in case you do not know, you have the option of receiving 
all your emails in a digest mode or you can opt for no email mode. 


That way, you can see what's new on the website and still keep a 
clear mailbox. You will never receive mail from us if you do that. 
YOU choose when to visit us ... and you can check out what you like 
and can skip over what doesn't interest you.

(Or choose Daily digest ... once or twice a day, you will receive 
an email -- text only -- listing all new postings ... just click on 
the messages link at the top of the digest to go to the web 
archive to see any attachments.)

An article that resonated with me because Amsterdam was the first place abroad my boyfriend and I visited together and the first place where we could walk hand in hand as anacknowledged gay couple, rather than in the Indian way where we could just be seen as gay friends. It sounds silly perhaps, but it meant something to me and its truly disturbing to read something like this.

Looking hate in the face

If you would have told me when I first came out that at some point in my life I would be beaten up for being gay, I would never have imagined it like this. As a child of the South, where "fag" and "queer" were everyday insults, I would have expected a fist to the face somewhere back home for sure. Three days later, the wounds still feel fresh. For years now, in big city and small, I suppose I've tempted fate, living my life as I have always seen everyone else live theirs. If the mood strikes me to hold my boyfriend's hand, I do it. If a chill in the air makes me want to put my arm around his shoulders, I do that, too. If he says something romantic that deserves a peck on the lips, he can expect that's coming, too.

As it happens, I tempted fate one too many times in arguably the "gay-friendliest" place on the planet. By almost any measure, the equality movement in the Netherlands was won years ago. There are laws protecting against discrimination based on sexual orientation, there are hate crime laws, and Holland is one of only a handful of countries where gay couples can legally marry.

What's more, there are few times of the year more welcoming than Queen's Day, not so named for the gays who flock by the thousands to Amsterdam for the holiday, but for the Netherlands' Queen Beatrix, who last Saturday celebrated a quarter century on the throne. In her annual address to the nation, she said she was disturbed by a rising tide of intolerance in this most tolerant of countries. Early Saturday morning, I got a firsthand look at what she meant.

I was walking through central Amsterdam with my boyfriend back to our hotel. People were still milling about on the sidewalks from Friday night's revelry. We were only blocks from the most popular gay areas; and we were holding hands.

As we passed two men standing on the side of the street, one of them deliberately spat on us, mainly hitting me in the face. Without saying a word, we stood our ground. We stopped, turned around, and asked why. The man, who looked in his 20s, had Moroccan features and spoke with a heavy accent, murmured something about "fucking fags."

Within seconds, the two somehow turned into seven and five of them were ganging up on me, probably because at 6-foot-7 I'm a good bit bigger than my boyfriend. It seemed like every direction I turned, I got another punch to the face, and when they kicked me to the ground, time seemed to stop. My heart still races as I write about it now. It felt like the situation had spiraled completely out of my control.

Then just as quickly as it began, it was over. I was standing up on my own, and our attackers were fleeing. There had been dozens of people on the streetcorner, but none of them had acted or even yelled anything. My boyfriend had escaped his attackers and had come to my aid, and that finally convinced the others to run.

I was covered in blood, mostly from my nose, but I got lucky: no broken bones, no damage to my vision, just some very nasty bruises and a lot to think about.

Should we have been walking hand-in-hand late at night, especially on a party weekend? Should we have shrugged and kept going after the inital spit? On the ambulance ride to the hospital, I beat myself up on both those points much worse than my attackers had. I could see in my boyfriend's face the fear that I might be seriously hurt. He had no visible injuries, but the whole nightmare for him had been worse. He saw me surrounded by five men, being beaten and kicked and covered in blood.

I decided the next evening, as we walked together down that same street, that I was not going to second-guess our decisions anymore. Standing up for yourself can have consequences, but not standing up for yourself can, too. I filed formal charges with the police, who had come to the scene quickly, though I have little hope our attackers will ever be identified. At the station the next day, the police were very sympathetic, and readily agreed that we had been victims of a bias crime.

Of course we all know that we cannot legislate away the hate some people feel about us for openly and honestly living our lives. For as long as I live, I will never forget the looks on the faces of our attackers. What I saw was more disgust than hate, but it was there, and it was chilling.

I hope our gay friends in Holland realize that it's a bit too soon to declare victory and go home, now that they've won their legal battles. Winning the hearts and minds of the people will be a much more challenging task

SB05-28 GOES TO GOVERNOR
Yesterday, May 5, the Senate concurred with the House amendments to SB05-28,
and the bill was passed on an 18-16 party line vote, with one Senate Republican
excused. The next stop is the Governor's desk.

SB05-28 would add sexual orientation and transgender status to the list of
characteristics for which a person may not be discriminated against under state
laws applying to employment.

The Governor has three choices:
1. He can sign the bill and make it law;
2. He can choose not to sign the bill, which means that after 10 days while
the legislature is in session, or after 30 days when the legislature is
adjourned, the bill automatically becomes law.
3. He can veto the bill.

If the Governor vetoes the bill, there will not be enough votes to override his
veto, and the bill will die.

ACTION
It is vital that you contact Governor Owens and urge him to sign SB05-28.
(See below for relevant contact information.).
Urge friends and family members to do the same.

TALKING POINTS
Status-based employment discrimination is inherently unfair, whether it
is due to race, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or
transgender status.
SB05-28 would put the focus of employment policies where it should be
on job performance.
SB05-28 would provide the same legal protections that are now available
to other classes of individuals that have historically been victims of
employment discrimination.
The amendment includes groups who are NOT covered under federal law.
Currently, it is perfectly legal to for any employer in Colorado to
discriminate against these groups.
Polling shows that the vast majority (76%) of Coloradans and Americans

the mother drew them close and covered them with 
her mantle, and the children said, Mother, we are 
not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come to us.

You are definately right I should apologise for posting such a 
mail without actually verifying the details. It was a cut and paste 
job from one of the other groups that I am a Member of.

Even long term partners should be careful and use condoms for anal 
sex. There's an unsettling number of cases of guys in long term 
relationships where one is positive, without them realising it (after 
all, even if he has a HIV test, he could have got infected in the 
window period), and then being a potential HIV risk for his partner 
if they bareback.

The party will start at 9.00 PM and will go on until 1.00 AM. Only.

* How much do I pay? 
The cover charge will be Rs. 400/- per head. 

* What do I expect for the amount I am paying? 
You can expect: 
a) The venue to party.
b) Good music. 
c) Light snacks like Wafers, Peanuts, etc. 
d)  4 small Drinks with mixers, or 4 Beer Pints, or 2 Bacardi

A very shy guy goes into a bar and sees a beautiful woman sitting at the bar. After an hour of gathering up his courage he finally goes over to her and asks, tentatively, 'Um, would you mind if I chatted with you for a while?' She responds by yelling, at the top of her lungs, 'NO, I WON'T SLEEP WITH YOU TONIGHT!' Everyone in the bar is now staring at them.
Naturally, the guy is hopelessly and completely embarrassed and he slinks back to his table.
After a few minutes, the woman walks over to him and apologises. She smiles at him and says, 'I'm sorry if I embarrassed you. You see, I'm a graduate student in psychology and I'm studying how people respond to embarrassing situations.'
To which he responds, at the top of his lungs, 'WHAT DO YOU MEAN 200 DOLLARS?'
