Why it should be so fine-grained?
As for caret, it is documented what it is elsewhere in the documentation (the ^
character pointing at the source location below the source line), but it
actually changed in later gcc versions (gcc 5 is going out of support RSN),

shows that we now have instead of caret range1 and range2 and there are many
further kinds).
