There is no templatized user-provided seed() and related constructors in the C++0x random number generation library. The draft N3000 says that the engines (Mersenne Twister, among others) have
template<SeedSequence Sseq> explicit mersenne_twister_engine(Sseq& q); template<SeedSequence Sseq> void seed(Sseq& q); in order to use a user-supplied seed generator.
