[ANNOUNCE] Apache Flink 0.6-incubating released
The Apache Flink (incubating) team is pleased to announce the release of Apache Flink 0.6-incubating, the first Apache release of Flink. Flink is a general-purpose data processing engine for clusters. It runs on YARN clusters on top of data stored in Hadoop, as well as stand-alone. Users can develop Flink jobs in Java or Scala. Jobs are optimized via Flink's optimizer, and executed via Flink's own runtime engine, that features robust in-memory and out-of-core processing, first-class support for iterations, and data pipelining. Release blog post: http://flink.incubator.apache.org/news/2014/08/26/release-0.6.html Download: http://flink.incubator.apache.org/downloads.html Documentation: http://flink.incubator.apache.org/docs/0.6-incubating/ Release notes: https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=12315522version=12327101 We welcome your help, feedback, and suggestions! For more information on how to give feedback and get involved, visit the project website at http://flink.incubator.apache.org/ The Apache Flink Team Disclaimer: Apache Flink is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) sponsored by the Apache Incubator PMC. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
Incubator PMC/Board report for Sep 2014 ([ppmc])
Dear podling, This email was sent by an automated system on behalf of the Apache Incubator PMC. It is an initial reminder to give you plenty of time to prepare your quarterly board report. The board meeting is scheduled for Wed, 17 September 2014, 10:30:30:00 PST. The report for your podling will form a part of the Incubator PMC report. The Incubator PMC requires your report to be submitted 2 weeks before the board meeting, to allow sufficient time for review and submission (Wed, Sep 3rd). Please submit your report with sufficient time to allow the incubator PMC, and subsequently board members to review and digest. Again, the very latest you should submit your report is 2 weeks prior to the board meeting. Thanks, The Apache Incubator PMC Submitting your Report -- Your report should contain the following: * Your project name * A brief description of your project, which assumes no knowledge of the project or necessarily of its field * A list of the three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation. * Any issues that the Incubator PMC or ASF Board might wish/need to be aware of * How has the community developed since the last report * How has the project developed since the last report. This should be appended to the Incubator Wiki page at: http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/September2014 Note: This manually populated. You may need to wait a little before this page is created from a template. Mentors --- Mentors should review reports for their project(s) and sign them off on the Incubator wiki page. Signing off reports shows that you are following the project - projects that are not signed may raise alarms for the Incubator PMC. How do I get started? Run the following command from an Incubator svn checkout: python3 report_runbook.py --apache-id=adc --month=9 That will provide you with documented steps, including generated commands to copy/paste. The first thing on this month's task list is to send out the September 2014 Incubator Report Timeline email. That's scheduled to happen today. It turns out that there were tasks from last month which were never completed: * Remove expired monthly reporting tags in podlings.xml. (Since this wasn't done, a few podlings got reminders today who should not have.) * Prepare the September wiki report template. I can take care of those a few hours from now unless somebody beats me to it.
